☀️💛 MISSION MONDAY: A Little Sunshine for Our Hero Moms 💛☀️

Behind every Hero is a family who needs love and encouragement, too. For our Hero moms, caring for a medically complex child can mean sleepless nights, endless appointments, and carrying worries that few people ever see.

At Wichita’s Littlest Heroes, we want these moms to feel seen and cared for. That’s why we regularly give **Sunshine Bags** to Hero moms who are struggling or could use a little extra encouragement. Filled with a soft blanket, a journal, fun pens, and other thoughtful goodies, each bag carries a simple message: **You matter. You are loved. You don’t have to carry this alone.** 💛

A bag cannot take away every worry, but it can bring comfort on a hard day and remind a mom that her community is thinking of her.

**Your donations provide HOPE for the whole family.** Through programs like our Sunshine Bags, you help us care for the moms who spend so much of their time caring for everyone else.

🙏❤️ **Sunday Community & Inspiration** ❤️🙏

Today, we’re asking our community to pause and pray for our Wichita’s Littlest Heroes families.

Behind every Hero is a family carrying so much—a parent holding their child’s hand through another procedure, a mom or dad waiting for answers, siblings trying to understand, and caregivers doing their best while running on very little rest. Some burdens are visible. Others are carried quietly.

Please join us in praying for:

💛 **Our Hero children**—for healing, comfort, relief from pain, and moments of joy in the middle of difficult days.
💙 **Our Hero parents and caregivers**—for strength, rest, peace, and the support they need to keep going.
❤️ **Our siblings**—that they feel seen, loved, and supported through the uncertainty.
🤍 **Our grieving families**—for comfort as they miss their precious children, and people who continue to show up and speak their children’s names.
🙏 **The medical teams caring for our Heroes**—for wisdom, compassion, and guidance in every decision.

We believe in a Heavenly Father who hears our prayers and meets us in our fear, exhaustion, and heartbreak. Today, we ask Him to surround these families with His love and remind them that they don’t have to carry everything alone.

**You may not be able to take away a diagnosis, but you can lift a family in prayer.** You can check in, bring a meal, offer a listening ear, and help make a hard day a little less lonely.

Hero families, you are loved. Your children matter. And there is an entire community cheering you on and praying beside you. ❤️💙💛

💛 SATURDAY IMPACT: Helping a Little Superhero Just Be a Kid 🦸‍♂️

A superhero cape. Help getting to medical appointments. A chance to laugh, play, and make memories together. Your support makes these moments possible for families facing some of their hardest days.

Hunter’s mom, Julia Bridges, shared what Wichita’s Littlest Heroes has meant to their family:

“When Hunter was diagnosed with a brain tumor, our world changed forever. Wichita’s Littlest Heroes has been such a blessing to our family. When we first joined, Hunter was only 6 and was so excited to receive his superhero cape. 🦸‍♂️ Since then, they’ve helped us afford trips to Mayo Clinic and given Hunter opportunities to enjoy activities and make memories we otherwise may not have been able to afford. We are forever grateful for the support and joy they’ve brought to our family during some of our hardest days.

❤️ **Thankful Thursday: Full Freezers & Full Hearts!** ❤️

Today, we’re sending a heartfelt THANK YOU to **Larchers Market and Belmont** for the love they continue to pour into our Wichita’s Littlest Heroes families! Their partnership helps care for the whole family through some of life’s hardest seasons.

🍽️ They donate **over 10 frozen meals every month**, giving Hero parents one less thing to worry about after hospital stays, appointments, and long days of caregiving. Having dinner ready means a little more time to rest, hold their children close, and simply be together.

💛 They also provide **over $1,200 in gift cards every six months for date nights for our Hero parents!** When so much energy goes toward caring for a medically complex child, time together can be hard to find. These evenings give parents a chance to reconnect, take a breath, and care for the relationship that helps carry them through.

Behind every meal and every gift card is a beautiful message: **We see you. You matter. You deserve care, too.**

🙌 Supporter Engagement Wednesday! 🎃💛

This past Sunday, **over 90 Hero families** joined us at Applejack Pumpkin Patch for an evening filled with food, friendship, face painting, Photo Booth fun, characters, and so much more! Watching our kids laugh, play, and make memories together is exactly what Wichita’s Littlest Heroes is all about. ❤️

For families navigating complex medical journeys, an evening like this gives them a chance to connect, enjoy time together, and let their kids just be kids.

❤️💙💛 **HERO SPOTLIGHT: Meet Damián Esqueda!** 💛💙❤️

Damián is a 9-year-old Hero with powerful, positive energy! He loves **Sonic the Hedgehog, Roblox, and the color red**, and his favorite treats are pizza and Dr Pepper. 🍕 This fourth grader has a family cheering him on every step of the way!

In 2023, Damián was diagnosed with **Giant Axonal Neuropathy (GAN)**, a very rare genetic condition that affects his strength and mobility. He uses a walker daily and a wheelchair for longer outings, helping him stay involved and enjoy experiences alongside his family.

His mom shares that Damián never complains about the three-hour drive each way to his appointments at Children’s Mercy—or the shots and treatments that come with them. His positive spirit shines through, and his family works every day to make sure he has opportunities to play, explore, and simply be a kid. ❤️

Surrounded by his parents, Mayra and Jose, and his older siblings, Joseph and Savannah, Damián is deeply loved. His family’s goal is simple: **give him a childhood filled with love, joy, and carefree moments—even when he needs to do things a little differently.**

We added every table we possibly could… and we are officially MAXED OUT! ❤️💙💛

What started as a dream has turned into a room FULL of people who believe in the power of HOPE.

Bravery Ball isn’t just a night of fancy dresses, dinner and dancing. It’s about putting the spotlight on the incredible Hero families in our community and making sure they know they are seen, supported and never alone. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

And because of YOU, we’ll raise funds to provide HOPE, HELP & HAPPINESS to medically complex children and their families right here in Kansas. ❤️
