Due to unforseen circumstances and difficulties - our Two One Seven event has been postponed. We look to plan virtual fundraisers in the near future and we hope to gather together in celebration of Dr. Hall and the Dr Scott A. Hall Foundation in 2025.

According to a recent study published by CHRQP (linked below), more than 700 rural hospitals across the country are at risk of closing due to financial issues - potentially leaving their communities without easy and urgent access to emergency and primary services.

The Dr. Scott A. Hall Foundation aims to reduce financial strain on critical access and rural hospitals by providing monetary grants to support, establish, improve and/or expand medical services.

The first Dr. Scott Hall Award for Outstanding Resident in Emergency Medicine was awarded this past summer at the 2024 KU Emergency Medicine Resident and Fellow Graduation. This award was given to the Emergency Medicine graduate that best represented Dr. Hall’s commitment to exceptional patient care, leadership, mentorship, integrity, and clinical excellence.

Dr. Aashni Patel was the unanimous nominee and recipient of the award which included a $1,000 gift.

A special thank you to KU Emergency Attendings Dr. Melissa Thomas, Dr. Jonathan Dangers, Dr. Jeff Norvell, Dr. Alicia Peterson, Dr. Ken Marshall and Dr. Bryan Imhoff for reviewing and choosing the recipient in Dr. Halls honor.

This award was made possible by the numerous donations made after Dr. Hall’s death. $26,000 was placed into a KU Endowment fund establishing the Dr. Scott Hall Award for Outstanding Resident in Emergency Medicine to be given yearly for the next 20+ years.
