Exciting stuff!! Way to represent Stacie Guines Daniels! đź’™

Nearing its 50th anniversary, Trinity In-Home Care looks to find more caregivers able to provide a few hours a month of non-medical support to individuals who need a hand at home. DCCCA CEO Lori Alvarado visits with Janine Gracy, executive director of Trinity In-Home Care, on this week's DCCCA Good News Show. She also talks to Stacie Daniels, coordinator of the Lawrence Parents as Teachers program, about how she and other parent educators support parents in being their child's first and best teacher. Listen to the DCCCA Good News Show every weekend at 7 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday on FM 101.7 and AM 1320 KLWN.

We’re proud to share that Amber Dejmal, M.Ed., AS, ECMH-E® was featured in the September 2026 KAIMH Connections newsletter after earning the Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist Endorsement.

This endorsement recognizes specialized competency in culturally sensitive, relationship-focused practice with young children and families and reflects Amber’s continued commitment to supporting children by strengthening the caregivers, relationships, and systems surrounding them.

Thank you to the Kansas Association for Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health for recognizing this milestone.

Grief doesn’t always get smaller. Sometimes, life grows bigger around it.

On Grief Awareness Day, we’re making space for all the ways grief can show up. There’s no deadline for “moving on,” and healing doesn’t require forgetting or leaving behind the person, relationship or part of life you’re grieving.

Over time, new people, experiences, routines and moments of joy can begin to grow around the grief we carry. The grief may still be there — but so is everything else life continues to hold.

However your grief looks and feels, there’s no single right way or timeline to experience it.

In just ten minutes, you and your child can make cereal bracelets or necklaces with pipecleaners and loop cereal (Cheerios or Fruitloops). Have your child thread the cereal onto the pipe cleaner. This activity strengthens your child’s hand-eye coordination, as well as fine motor skills. Proudly wear the bracelet your child makes for you day!
