Tough one tonight in Cincinnati, no way around it. Dropping a close 31-26 battle on the road stings, especially in a hostile environment like Nippert Stadium where momentum can flip in an instant.

Before the panic sets in, there are plenty of reasons to keep your head held high:

The offense showed grit through the air: Avery Johnson threw for nearly 300 yards, and guys stepped up across the board. Derrick Salley Jr. played out of his mind with a 140-yard night, and the passing attack proved it can stretch the field in high-pressure road environments.

The fight never stopped: Even when momentum swung in the second half, this squad battled all the way through the fourth quarter. They didn’t fold when Cincinnati made their push.

The fixable mistakes: The gap between winning and losing came down to a couple of untimely turnovers and red-zone stops. Those are discipline and ex*****on fixes, not a lack of talent or heart.

The bigger picture is completely intact: It’s September. It’s Game 1 of the Big 12 grind. Anyone who follows college football knows that winning conference road games is brutal, and championship-caliber teams are built on how they respond to an early punch in the mouth.

This program has never been defined by smooth sailing—it’s defined by how hard we fight back. Flush the film, clean up the details, and let’s rally behind the boys next week.

Long season ahead. Always purple, always proud. EMAW! 💜🌾🏈
