Two-Fold Strategy
· Help the underserved homeless young adults rediscover, restore lost dreams and start dreaming again in a stable environment by giving them a second chance. We Identify, engage, equip and empower (CLAM).
· Inspire a positive way of life through mentoring and Community Living Approach Model (CLAM) in our three years rehabilitation program until they become self-supporting. T
hree Primary Objectives
Our three primary objectives are:
· To provide a gap in the current homeless housing initiatives in our city by inspiring the targeted population find meaning to life and integrate back into our society as givers not takers.
· To prevent chronic homelessness and social welfare cycle by helping these young adults realize their lost dreams. We are not a homeless shelter. During our first phase, we intend building a community of young adults’ living phase three of successful existing foster care programs. These individuals are dropped from the system once they reach the age of eighteen, left on their own with insufficient resources to make it in society. They need a little help to transition the next level before they are homeless. The second phase will involve those who are already out of the system and homeless, but are willing to work hard and change.
· To provide a supportive community environment where we model, train, mentor, instill work ethics and community living to participants in the program. The community concept brings responsibility, decision making and accountability to the community participants. We believe our chances of accomplishing this has been improved by the pledged support and cooperation we have from various homeless advocate groups, foster care agencies, local government and the public in our city. We are networking to avoid reinventing the wheel
We are members of Advocates for Ending Chronic Homelessness (A.E.C.H.) and the Coalition for Homeless Young Adults.
