Something shifts when women stop performing “good” and start telling the truth.

At today’s Lunch & Learn, we explored the prompt: “If I were a bad girl…”

It wasn’t about rebellion. It was about liberation.
About letting desire speak without shame or apology.

There was laughter (deep, belly laughter).
There were moments of stillness.
There were moats, lazy rivers, and crop tops.
There were confessions of wanting more rest, more art, more pleasure, more permission.

And underneath the giggles was something electric:
a remembering of how much power lives in our honesty, our desire, and our voice.

Because “bad” is often just another word for free.

This is what happens when women gather in safety and truth:
transformation sounds like laughter.

The Hive isn’t just a workspace.
At The Hive, we create brave spaces for conversations that shift something inside you.

At The Hive, we don’t gather because we’ve “arrived.”
We gather because we’re becoming.

You’ll meet women who are figuring it out in real time: entrepreneurs, healers, leaders, and creators who don’t pretend to have it all together. We share what’s true in the middle of the process, not after it’s polished.

Here, growth doesn’t mean hustling harder.
It means staying open while things are still taking shape.
It means breathing through the awkward middle, cheering each other on, and remembering that evolution can be tender and powerful.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’m not ready yet,” this space is for you.
You don’t have to be ready. You just have to be real.

Because the magic of The Hive isn’t found in perfection. It’s found in presence.
Come sit with us. Grow with us. Become with us.

Imagine starting your workday with sunlight pouring through your window, plants thriving beside your desk, and the quiet hum of women creating purposefully all around you.

A rare window office is open at The Hive. It’s more than a workspace; it’s an energy shift. A place to breathe, dream, and grow what’s next.

If you’ve been craving a private office that still keeps you connected to community, this might be your sign. Come feel the vibe.

Great conversation today! We explored the profound connection between our environment and our nervous system. Key insights:

1. Our spaces deeply impact our mental health:
- Natural light can reduce cortisol by up to 60%
- Clutter increases stress and limits cognitive processing
- Highly sensitive people are especially attuned to environmental stimuli

2. Creating Calm Spaces:
- Prioritize natural materials and lighting
- Designate at least one area in your home that feels completely peaceful
- Be intentional about reducing digital and physical clutter

3. Nervous System Wisdom:
- We can regulate entire rooms with our own calm energy
- Women often set the emotional tone of a household
- Prioritizing self-care benefits everyone around us

Practical tips:
- Use soft, warm lighting in evenings
- Change HVAC filters regularly
- Create spaces that make you feel safe and relaxed
- Remember: You can always leave environments that don’t serve you

We’d love to have you join us at our next lunch and learn next Wednesday at noon! Just pm us for details!

Today’s Lunch & Learn: Boundaries as Liberation

We explored the art of setting healthy boundaries—what they mean, how they feel in the body, and why they matter.

Key Insights
- Boundaries protect your energy and prevent burnout.
- They nurture healthier relationships.
- Saying “no” is an act of self-love, not selfishness.

Practical Wisdom
- Notice the first signs of overwhelm.
- “No” is a complete sentence.
- Step back from situations that drain your spirit.

Real Talk
- How women are conditioned to people-please.
- The physical signals of a boundary being crossed.
- Strategies for holding professional and personal limits.

Shared Truth
Boundaries look different for each of us, yet their essence is the same:
- Protecting energy
- Honoring capacity
- Creating space for what truly matters

Boundaries aren’t walls. They are bridges—to freedom, deeper connection, and a life that feels aligned.

Remember: Your energy and well-being are sacred.

Limbo is uncomfortable, yet it can also be a gift. At this week’s Lunch and Learn at The Hive, we gathered to explore what it means to live in the “in-between.” Not yet where we want to be, but no longer where we were.

We named how limbo stirs survival energy and fuels the urge to grasp for certainty. Many of us carry an old story that our worth is tied to doing and achieving, so waiting feels like wasted time. But what if the tension in our shoulders is strength being built? What if the pause is not empty, but quietly preparing us for what comes next?

The conversation reminded us that our bodies often tell the story first. Limbo can feel like tightness, restlessness, or unease, but those sensations can also signal transformation. Nervous system safety became a central theme: breathing before strategizing, grounding before acting, and remembering that presence matters more than constant motion.

By the end, limbo looked less like a stuck place and more like a sacred space of gestation and growth. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is breathe, trust the process, and allow being to matter as much as doing.

If you’re in a season of “not yet,” you’re not alone. Your pause has purpose. Your being matters here.

And if you want to experience the beauty of these conversations in person, you are welcome at a Wednesday Lunch and Learn at noon. Bring your whole self. We’ll breathe first.

I know many of you are planning beautiful gatherings: birthday brunches, baby showers, bridal celebrations, book clubs, healing circles, workshops. And I want to offer this gentle reminder:
The space you choose holds the energy of what unfolds inside it.

A space isn’t just where you go.
It’s how you feel when you walk in.
It’s how your body exhales.
It’s the way intention lingers in the air.

At The Hive, every room was created to do more than “host.”
They were made to hold you.
To nurture your next move.
To give your nervous system permission to soften.
To infuse your moments with presence.

– Private offices for 1-1 sessions, solo work, or sacred silence
– Meeting rooms for co-creation, planning, or grounded collaboration
– A soft-floor space for circles, breathwork, and deep listening
– An open, flexible room for cozy gatherings—like showers, celebrations, or anything you don’t want to squeeze into a restaurant or living room

If you're ever looking for a space that truly meets you—energetically, emotionally, intuitively—come see what we’ve built.
Not to impress.
But to support.

You can book a room here: www.thehivewichita.com/rooms
Or come walk through it in person: www.thehivewichita.com/tour

What is The Hive?

The Hive is a women-focused coworking and community space created to offer support for small business owners and community for professionals to help them reach their goals and then dream bigger. We give women permission to be seen, to be known.

The Hive's mission is to cultivate a community that empowers women to show up authentically by providing resources, connections, and a positive space (both physical and virtual). Towards that goal, we host weekly value-packed lunch and learns, monthly personal and professional growth events, and a 24/7 thriving online community of resources and support to promote measurable growth and authentic connection among our members.

Our values:

1. We do business together. 2. We show up. Authentically. 3. We communicate from empathy. 4. We collaborate instead of compete. 5. We empower ourselves and others towards growth. 6. We know our worth and price accordingly. 7. We get vulnerable and ask for help.
