Riverside PTO We are the Parent Teacher Organization for Riverside Leadership Magnet Elementary in Wichita USD 259

Whether you have five minutes or five hours, you CAN be a member of Riverside PTO, and we value all of our parents and support members as vital for our children's success. The Riverside Parent Teacher Organization, Inc. serves several purposes:

1) To promote the

education and welfare of children in the home, school, and community, particularly children who are students of Riverside Leadership Magnet School, a public elementary school of USD 259, Wichita, Kansas

2) To advocate for adequate laws for the care and protection of our children

3) To develop between educators and the community such united efforts as will secure for our children the highest advantages in physical, mental, and social education

4) To protect and preserve the neighborhood school

We work together to provide student activities, social events, school fundraising opportunities, teacher appreciation, classroom technology and equipment, support for field trips, and much more more!

Congratulations to Earhart Environmental Magnet, Riverside Leadership Magnet, and Mayberry Cultural and Fine Arts Magnet for being named Magnet Schools of Distinction by Magnet Schools of America! This is Earhart's fifth award, Mayberry's third, and Riverside's first!

This award is given to schools who demonstrate an exemplary commitment to academic standards, curriculum innovation, desegregation/diversity efforts, specialized teaching staffs and parent and community involvement.
