Only three brave volunteers this morning but lots of work accomplished! About 35 gallons (!!) of goat head sticker weeds removed from the trail near Airport Road, two trees leaning over the trail removed from near 231st and a bunch of cracks repaired.

For those concerned with the ordinance passed last night at the City of Goddard, City Council meeting. Please go and read the Ordinance here https://www.goddardks.gov/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_09082026-674 (page 117-122) before making assumptions. This ordinance does not pertain to electric-assisted bicycles or assistive devices specifically designed to aid people with disabilities. If you have concerns or suggestions for changes or better definitions, please contact the City of Goddard.

Last week our volunteers worked on smoothing out your walk, run or ride on the Prairie Sunset Trail! Cracks have appeared everywhere due to the dry conditions, and fixing them takes some work! First cracks are "opened" because what you see on the surface is often just the tip of the crack. Then it is filled with fine gravel. Lastly, it is tamped down so it stays in place. Thanks to our amazing volunteers! If you are interested in keeping our trail in good shape, plan now to volunteer on September 19th.
