Creativity, Community, Connection!

Hey Yarnies! Help the Carriage Factory Art Gallery in Newton, KS by making 3-6 inch circles or flower shapes (all colors welcome). Artists will piece together your creations. A flower fall will be installed at the Carriage Factory Art Gallery Park (Krehbiel Park). Installation will take place for the Annual Art Carnival, Saturday, September 26, 2026. Little looms and a ball of yarn are available at the gallery starering Thursday, July 16. These looms can be used to create yarn tubes for the project; all ages welcome, while supplies last. The 1st Annual WKG Knitters' Crawl starts this coming Saturday, July 25th! This event is only open to members (but gosh it's so easy and affordable to join https://www.wichitaknittersguild.com/membership/join.html) Participating members of WKG will KIP (Knit In Public) at Milkfloat, Watermark, Pennant, Reverie, Grow, Bubbles, and the Monarch. Get your passport initialed at each stop then turn it in for a prize drawing at our next meeting Aug. 19!

Registration deadline for the Kansas State Fair is August 1st, and oh how I would LOVE to see Wichita Knitter's Guild and just Wichita knitters, crocheters, dyers, weavers, spinners, sewists show up and show out! Late entries are accepted through August 19. Register here: https://kansasst.fairwire.com/ then plan to bring your items to the fairgrounds Thurs, Aug 27 noon to 8, Fri, Aug 28 11-6, and Sat, Aug 29 9 to noon. Suzanne is planning to transport items and is happy to take yours to Hutch if you can't make it. Let's shake a tail feather, y'all!

Come join us this Wednesday July 15 at the downtown YMCA 5-6 open knit, 6-8 program. Our July program is all about brioche, and we're not talking about that fancy Frenchie bread with a topknot... Here's the free pattern we're using: https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2025/09/09/two-color-brioche-hat/ Materials needed are DK/light Worsted weight yarn in two contrasting colors and US size 4 needles. Please cast on your desired size to be prepared for the program and bring FO's and WIPs to share! 🥰
