Uptown Neighborhood Association This page is for the residents of Uptown Neighborhood in Wichita, KS, to keep our neighbors updated on events and news specific to our area.

Feel free to add discussions or photos. The Uptown Neighborhood Association boundaries are Douglas to Central and Grove to Hillside. Uptown Association was established in 1997 in response to the city's proposal to tear out our section of 3rd Street between Hillside and Grove and put in a drainage canal off Sleepy Hollow Creek. Our residents banded together and worked hard to get not just park-like

lanscaping along the banks of the creek/canal, but also Chautauqua Park. Our neighborhood association's been going strong ever since due to the dedication of our officers and founding members!

Emergency Preparedness Safety Expo

The Sedgwick County Local Emergency Planning Committee, in partnership with Sedgwick County Emergency Management, will be holding its second annual Emergency Preparedness Safety Expo on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Century II Expo Hall. The event will feature live demonstrations, hand-on activities and dozens of stations - all sharing information you need to know to protect yourself, your community and your property from harm.
