🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: KATHLEEN WEBB 🌟

If you’ve been around Children 1st for any length of time, there’s a pretty good chance you know Kathleen Webb, our Executive Director—and yes, the woman who keeps all the bees buzzing. 🐝

But we wanted to get to know Kathleen beyond her title…

🌊 Fun Fact #1: She absolutely loves the ocean… just don’t ask her to swim in it. 😂

🍰 Fun Fact #2: Her birthday dessert of choice? German Chocolate Cake. And honestly, we respect that decision.

🐝 Fun Fact #3: Kathleen thinks bees are fascinating—and around Children 1st, she’s sometimes affectionately known as the “Queen Bee.” 👑🐝

But when asked why she does what she does, Kathleen gave an answer that really captures the heart of Children 1st:
“I believe that we can make a difference for one child, one family, one community.”

After 10 years of serving Children 1st and the families we support, that mission continues to be at the heart of everything she does.

It is with profound sadness that I share the death of Casandra Hall, Children 1st Employment Director. Casandra passed away just 18 days after the death of her beloved husband, James. We find comfort in knowing that they are now reunited.

Casandra was an amazing member of the Children 1st team. Her compassion, dedication, and commitment to the families we serve touched so many lives. She will be deeply missed by her colleagues, the families she supported, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Our thoughts and prayers are with Casandra’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

🥫 Help Fill Empty Shelves & Full Hearts ❤️

Every week, Children 1st serves families facing unexpected crises—parents struggling to put food on the table, children going without meals, and unhoused families trying to make the best of difficult circumstances.

Right now, our Emergency Food Pantry is running low, and we need your help.

We're looking for businesses, churches, schools, community groups, and organizations willing to host a food drive to help stock our pantry with much-needed items, including:
• Non-perishable foods
• Canned goods
• Pasta, rice, and beans
• Pull-top canned foods for unhoused families living in hotel rooms without access to can openers

The good news? We make it easy! Children 1st will provide collection boxes for your food drive.

A simple act of kindness can help ensure a family in crisis doesn't have to wonder where their next meal will come from.
