Shepherd's Way housing provides a housing opportunity for individuals with intellectual disabilities to grow and develop the potential that has been often times discounted, while affording young mentors a very valuable opportunity to develop leadership skills, as they invest in changing the lives of others. Shepherd's Way exists to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities with practical
independent living skills and the ability to recognize and embrace their unique gifts and value; promote healthy and mutually life-changing community integration; develop leaders; equip all individuals with the social and spiritual tools to impact the lives of others; and cultivate a community of embrace for our friends with special needs. The aim of Shepherd's Way is to create communities of shared-living housing, including individuals with and without intellectual disabilities. One of the primary focuses of Shepherd's Way is mutually beneficial relationship, cultivating a healthy community, where each member can grow and develop their skills and potential, regardless of limitations or abilities. A focus on relationship paves the path for Shepherd's Way Mentors to invest in and speak into the lives of their community peers with intellectual disabilities, teaching and coaching life-skills, while promoting confidence, fulfillment and joy.
