Where Three Winds Meet: Poetry and Art

Where Three Winds Meet: Poetry and Art A project to match poems by James Hoggard, Poet Laureate of Texas, 2000, with various forms of art- music, sculpture, dance, painting, photography

If you live in the North Central Texas area within 50 miles of Wichita Falls, Texas, you are already fully aware of the wind and weather! In addition to all his other literary work, Poet Laureate of Texas 2000 James Hoggard has written over 100 North Texas poems--some of the only poetry designed to describe this special part of Texas. Now we are inviting artists of every discipline to become a pa

rt of a precident-setting book to be published in 2015 entitled "Where Three Winds Meet." Whether you are a visual artist , a sculptor, a potter,a ceramisist, a photographer, a musician or a dancer, we invite you to help us create a book that will be a legacy for years to come. The invitation is this: go to the website, www.acentralplace.org, and review the Hoggard poems shown there. Select one or up to three of the poems as an inspiration for a work of your particular art form. Review the guidelines for submission of your art and submit your entry NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 30, 2014. If your work is selected to be published in the hardback book to be published in 2015, you will be notified by the leaders of the project. This is the only project of its kind to attempt to match poetry specifically written to reflect a geographic area with visual and performance art inspired by that poetry. Be sure to review submission criteria carefully and then create something wonderful! Watch this page for news, suggestions and progress.
