Amanda's story
My husband and I have a household income of $30,000 a year. We were at rock bottom when we found Dave Ramsey in January of 2012. All of our credit cards were maxed out and we had a few dollars to our name. Then we found out we were expecting our first baby. Seven months later, we have paid off over $13,000 in debt and have $1,400 in the bank - And couldn't be more ready for our little girl! We are so grateful Dave teaches the baby steps! Last month alone, we put $300 into fixing his car, then two weeks later, turned around and drop $600 on mine! Our $1,000 emergency fund is now fully refunded and we paid July's bills BEFORE July even started. If it weren't for FPU and Dave, we would be in a world of hurt. FPU and The Total Money Makeover has given us so much motivation. Not to mention the opportunity to meet some really great people. Our lives have changed so much in the past few months and we could not be happier! Amanda, Age 22 Brett, Age 24
