🎓🌟 STUDENT SECTION: STUDENT ORGANIZATION SPOTLIGHT! 🌟🎓

We're excited to introduce Student Section, a new weekly series highlighting the incredible student organizations making a difference on our campuses and throughout the Wichita Falls community!

🇺🇸 First up: Wichita Falls Legacy High School JROTC!

The Legacy High School JROTC program is about much more than leadership and discipline. These cadets are putting their commitment to service into action by giving back to their school, honoring our veterans, and supporting organizations throughout our community!

From helping provide a new home for a homeless Navy veteran through the Home for Freedom nonprofit to presenting the colors at an Oklahoma City Thunder game, these students are making an impact both locally and beyond!

Here are just a few ways Legacy JROTC cadets serve our community:

🇺🇸 Honor veterans by participating in the American Legion's annual Veterans Day ceremony and visiting veterans in local nursing homes.

❤️ Support local nonprofits through the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 41 fundraisers and the annual Beast Feast barbecue cook-off.

🏀 Serve as the official color guard for the Wichita Falls Net Burners basketball team.

🏠 Support Home for Freedom, including serving as the color guard for the opening ceremonies of this Saturday's Freedom Marathon.

👏 Participate in numerous other community service projects throughout the year!

And these cadets are busy outside of JROTC, too! Thirty Legacy JROTC students also participate in other extracurricular activities, including athletics, fine arts, and more!

💙💛 We are proud of these students for demonstrating what it means to lead by example and serve others. Thank you, Legacy JROTC, for representing WFISD with pride and making a difference in our community!
