Historian -

The primary objective of this organization is to bring together the Sri Lankan students and assist them in attaining their place in academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at college and enhancing their college experience while having a part of their national heritage. Some of the other objectives, we as an organization plan on advocating are,

• Guiding new Sri Lankan students each semester to settle down easily and conform to the new college experience they are yet to endure

• Promoting the beautiful and rich Sri Lankan culture within Midwestern State University

• Organize fundraiser projects in order to teach the students team work and work professionally

• Organize social service projects within Midwestern State University

• Act as an intermediary body that discusses and helps to find solutions for Sri Lankan students’ issues in regard to academic, extra and co-curricular affairs in Midwestern State University.

• Organizing field trips in order to strengthen the relationships among the Sri Lankan students

• Celebrate local festivals such as Halloween and Thanksgiving in order to give an opportunity for the students to experience the cultures and traditions of this great nation

Apart from the above mentioned objectives, we as a students’ union look forward to make a true difference within the lives of the Sri Lankan students. It is our belief that today’s student is the treasure for tomorrow. Therefore, adding value and character to those leaders of tomorrow is not only our duty but also our responsibility. As a result, our students union also look forward to,

• Educate the students about leadership and its importance.

• Unite the students and promote team work.

• Inculcate “assisting others” as a habit and characteristic of the students.

• Through projects, promote fellowship among the students.

• Assist and inspire others to do more for the community.
