Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation We strive to enhance the quality of life in the Wichita Falls area through the promotion and support of charitable giving. Thanks to the J.S.

In the United States, community foundations began in 1914 in an effort to help a large number of people help their communities. Since March 1999, Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation has been helping by making endowments and other charitable funds that serve non-profits, varied charitable activities, students seeking college scholarships, and other special needs (Rural Fire Department, Weather Spotters). Bridwell Foundation, Perkins-Prothro Foundation, The Priddy Foundation and the dedicated board members, the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation had a good start and has grown at a steady pace.

Tomorrow is the last day you can submit your application for the Wichita County Jr. Livestock Show Scholarship!🎓🐄

Eligible Wichita County high school seniors who are members of Texas 4-H or FFA are encouraged to apply. Eight one-time $2,000 scholarships will be awarded!

GRANTS IN ACTION | Wilbarger Humane Society 🐾

Grant funding can help nonprofits meet practical needs that make a difference in their day-to-day work.

With support from the Fund for the Wichita Falls Area, Wilbarger Humane Society purchased new scales to provide accurate weights for animals receiving wellness care and undergoing surgery. Accurate weights help their team properly dose anesthesia and medications while providing safe, effective care for animals of all sizes.

“The scales help us accurately dose the medications for anesthesia and also provide weights for prevention prescriptions while doing wellness and surgeries.”

We’re proud to see grant dollars at work supporting the tools local nonprofits need to continue serving our communities!

Our team had the privilege of touring the new Vicki and Jim McCoy Aquatics Center at the Wichita Falls YMCA, and we are thrilled to see this dream come to life!

One of the first first things to consider before writing a grant is whether or not your organization and the potential grantor align in values and mission. If the grantor's focus does not match the direction of your mission or program, it is not a good fit.

Dr. Sonia White with the Center for Nonprofit Management & Leadership at MSU Texas helped participants at the Grant Writing Master Class learn exactly how to do that. Scott Reed, Executive Director at Rathgeber Hospitality House, said that his biggest takeaway from the class was "how to identify donors and see if they are a good fit" for Rathgeber Hospitality House's mission.

For WFACF, supporting emergency services is an important part of serving our region. Through the generosity of our donors and fundholders, we are proud to help area volunteer fire departments access resources that support their work when our communities need them most.
