Wichita County Heritage Society Built in 1909 by local pioneer Frank Kell, the Kell House bridges past, present, and future. Tours are generally offered by donation.

The Kell House Museum tells the history of Wichita Falls through the eyes of the Kell family. Tours of this local, state, and national landmark include stories of the Kell family, the city that grew around them, and their contributions to the community and nation. The Neo-Classical exterior and Victorian-inspired interior of the House add to the tale and help bring history to life for our visitors. The Kell House has been undergoing exterior renovations which will be complete by mid October 2022. While the grand re-opening is being planned, the site is unofficially open for tours Saturdays & Sundays from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., and during week by appointment. We ask that you all ahead to ensure our availability to give a tour during office hours. Offices are located in the Carriage House behind the Kell House and are open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday. When tours are available, reservations are not required, but we do recommend calling ahead to ensure availability.
