***Anticline Fire Update 5/29 - 1217 acres
Overall, today went well. The fire had some internal burning and flare ups earlier in the day, but crews spent majority of the afternoon mopping up hot spots. Some mutual aid resources were released late last night with the rest being released this afternoon. We are incredibly thankful for the mutual aid our surrounding departments supplied. The following fire departments were able to send resources: Plevna, Baker, Prairie County, West Glendive, Beach, and Golva.

Additional Federal and State Resources arrived today and they are still on scene and will continue to work on hot spots tomorrow.

Update on Anticline Fire 5/28 - estimated at 1000 acres

Firefighters from multiple surrounding counties including State and Federal Resources are currently on scene in the Pine Unit Area. High winds throughout the day have made for difficult firefighting efforts with fires jumping multiple fire lines. Thankfully avaition resources were able to fly with multiple LATs and a helicopter. Heavy equipment has consisted of 7 road graders and 2 dozers along with numerous fire engines. Crews will continue to be on scene through the night working on strengthening fire lines and securing edges due to the high winds tonight and tomorrow. Currently there is still quite a few spots burning throughout the fire.

Additional resources are expected to arrive tomorrow. At this time we ask the public to avoid the area due to the heavy presence of firefighting personnel.

We are currently responding to a large fire in the pine unit area south of Wibaux. Please stay clear of the scene at this time as multiple agencies are responding

We recently had 2 more fires in the county yesterday and conditions are still very dry. Please be cautious today as we are currently in a red flag warning.

Today the Wibaux Fire Department along with help from Beach Fire Department responded to 3 separate grass fires simultaneously north of Wibaux. High winds and dry grass could have resulted in rapid fire growth, but thankfully a quick response allowed the fires to be contained early.
Fire 1 - 27.1 acres
Fire 2 - 2.6 acres
Fire 3 - 7.7 acres

Due to dry conditions and lack of moisture, burning in Wibaux County is currently prohibited until further notice. Burn permits will not be issued.

***update- HW 7 is back open. Roadways are still wet with icy patches

HW 7 south of wibaux is fully blocked approximately 5 miles south of town due to a semi wreck.

Black ice is extremely bad on I 94 and HW7. Use caution when traveling today.
