Whittier Police Officers' Association The Whittier Police Officers Association continues to foster a harmonious working atmosphere with the police and the governing body of the City of Whittier

The W.P.O.A. has always been active in the community with youth organizations and continues to expand its role in mentoring new as well as existing programs. The Whittier Police Explorer post is one of those programs. This program is funded by community support along with dedicated members of the W.P.O.A. It is very successful and has proven to have a positive impact on our youth. This program is

one example of what can be accomplished through your support. In addition to helping our youth programs, your sponsorship will also facilitate the ongoing mission of the Whittier Police Officer’s Association. In order to accomplish our goal, we rely on community support. By donating or becoming involved as a Sponsor to one of our programs, you will show your continued support for the future of our youth. Passing on some sad news to my Whittier Police Family. I was notified this morning by Richard Jensen that Retired Reserve Police Officer Don Guchereau, passed away on Saturday. I have no other details.

Don was my Reserve Squad Leader when I started at WPD 37 years ago. Although we both Retired we did stay in contact with each other. Don was a good Reserve, Father, Husband and Friend. He will be missed. My Prayers of comfort go out to his Family!
I know I will see Don again.

God Bless you Don! SYOTOS

Friends of Whittier and Santa Fe Springs,

Thank you for all you do. Whittier and Santa Fe Springs are great places to live, have our businesses, raise families, work, be successful, feel safe. They are not just great Cities, but amazing communities and a place that we are proud to call home.

One of the main reasons for this success is due to dedication and commitment of our public safety agencies that work so hard to protect and serve each of us. Day in and day out, the Volunteers, Explorers, Sworn Officers and Civilians of the Whittier Police Department answer our calls in times of need and joyfully partner with us… they are always there for us!

But now... they need our help.

On Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., the Whittier City Council will be presented with the new 2020-2021 CIty Budget for adoption, which among many things, includes the much needed funding for our police department... a promise kept after more than five years of cuts to their budget. It is our community and our responsibility to do whatever we can to support them. We cannot allow their promised funding to be re-allocated, diverted or otherwise defunded!

To build back our economy, to continue and grow a safe environment… It’s vital Whittier PD is allowed the much-awaited and needed resources we voted to give them. It is imperative we help them continue the great service they provide us every hour of every day! They are not just as our local police department… but our local community partner!!
