EAST WHITTIER LIONS CLUB - DISTRICT 4L2

The Lions Club of East Whittier was chartered on January 27, 1941 under the jurisdiction of the International Association of Lions Clubs. We are the world's largest and most active service organization dedicated to community services. Our club is made up of individuals who are leaders in the community who strive to improve the quality of life for others. Members work on club projects, giving freely of their time, but also manage to have fun along the way. The Lions motto, "We Serve", brings us together with the common goal of helping those in need, wherever need exists. The East Whittier Lions Club sponsors the following service projects:
-Eyecare and eyeglasses for the needy
-Student Speaker Contest
-White Cane Days
-Outstanding High School Freshman Awards
-Lions Eyemobile for Vision and Hearing Screening
-Used Eyeglasses Collection
-Annual Comedy night
-Rummage sale with proceeds to benefit the community

Meetings are held every Friday at 7:10am at Mimi's Café in the Whittwood Town Center. Membership is open to those wishing to serve the community. For more information, please contact the East Whittier Lions Club at [email protected].

Our club was a collaborative partner with the Boys & Girls Club/Whittier Area Literacy Council for their April 25th, 2026 - Soup & a Good Book!

Soup & a Good Book is a celebration of the student’s academic progress throughout the school year. Students write their own stories and share them with their family, friends, and tutors!

We were able to provide food and beverages, help serve the students and their guests, and faculty as well as help with the set up and clean up of the whole event.

We are very honored that we got to help celebrate the success of all the students and do what we do best serve!🦁
