Hi to all, hope everyone is surviving all of this. I'm not ready to come to meetings yet, who knows about Sharon? I'm mostly living in our original house across the street, since she can't seem to stay out of big box stores. We got everything out of her Dad's house with minutes to spare and turned it over to the new owners. Since we had some $, we bought a reliable car. Now we'll spend a year or two (not a joke) going thru stuff, including my parents' stuff. So many old tools (some worth $), and tupperware, and linens (70 years worth) so maybe make it 3 years. There is life after caregiving, but maybe not what I'd hoped for, yet. I think about the group all the time, and worry about all the added pressures you all are under these days. Sharon did zoom meetings with her film group, and I'm wondering if any of the group might want to do something similar. I've never done it, but I think we could do a facebook room. I'll run it by Debbie, and see if anyone is interested. Hang tough, stay strong & safe, and as my musical favorite Mary Chapin Carpenter says, "stay mighty".

Posting as Steve Arndt - My aunt with Alzheimer's passed last night at age 92. Third of six siblings claimed by this killer. Did I mention that I hate this disease? I hate what it does to the person that has it, and the family of caregivers that surround them. Now our next generation should be looking over our own shoulders. I miss you all, and wonder how your families are doing, with the added degree of difficulty of the pandemic. Hope to see you all sometime soon. Stay safe.

Just talked to our neighbor that worked the reception desk at PIH. She's been furloughed, and said there are tents out front to separate Covid-19 patients from others, and no one is being being let in without a medical reason. Add that 10 or fewer deal to this, and I'm guessing there will be no meeting at PIH for April 7th. Check with the hospital, Deb, or watch this space.

Sharon's Dad has a new Great Granddaughter.
Savannah Briella 7 lbs. 3 oz.

That will make 7 humans & 3 big dogs in that 3 bedroom, 1 bath home where he is on hospice.

Good luck to all.

I was just thinking that maybe there should be a post about the book "The 36 Hour Day". Our group uses it often, and it's almost a rite of passage, that when your journey is done, you pass your copy on to someone else.

You don't read it so much like a book, but use it like a reference when something comes up. Maybe it can give you an idea, when you're out of ideas.

At first glance. I saw some used copies online for under $5, or you can stop by a meeting and see if there are any extra copies floating around.

It's written by Nancy L. Mace. and published by Johns Hopkins University Press Books.
