Investing in our team means investing in the people and communities we serve. 💙

Today, members of our First Day team are attending the 2026 Homeless Care & Reentry Solutions National Symposium at California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Our work requires us to continuously learn, grow, and strengthen how we serve. From trauma-informed care and crisis response to program compliance, health equity, behavioral health, reentry services, and innovative approaches to homeless services, today is an opportunity for our team to gain knowledge, exchange ideas, and bring new strategies back to First Day.

First Day believes that professional development is not simply an investment in our employees. It is an investment in stronger programs, better services, and better outcomes for the individuals and families who depend on us.

To our First Day team: continue learning, continue challenging yourselves, and continue leading with compassion, accountability, and purpose.

We are stronger when we grow together.

A heartfelt thank you to our very own CFO, Randall, for taking the time to visit each of our Firstday sites and create such a memorable experience for our clients. Watching everyone make their own pizzas brought smiles, laughter, and a sense of community.

It’s moments like these that remind us how meaningful it is to give back. Thank you, Randall, for showing our clients experiencing homelessness that they are seen, valued, and deserving of kindness and joy. ❤️🍕

A heartfelt thank you to Chirp LA for inviting Firstday to be part of your Monthly Network Meeting. It was an honor to share the work we do through our Access to Care program and to connect with so many organizations that are committed to serving our community.

Hearing each speaker share their mission and the many resources available to individuals experiencing homelessness was both inspiring and encouraging. When organizations come together with a shared purpose, we create stronger pathways to hope, healing, and lasting change.

A special thank you to Ashley for always representing Firstday and Access to Care with professionalism, compassion, and heart. Your dedication to our clients and our mission shines through every presentation, and we are incredibly proud of the work you do.

Together, we are stronger, and together, we can continue making a meaningful difference—one person, one partnership, and one community at a time. 💙

At First Day, we were honored to provide free clothing to clients experiencing homelessness. Something as simple as choosing a clean shirt, a pair of pants, or a warm sweater can help restore confidence, dignity, and hope.

Every item shared is more than just clothing—it’s a reminder that our community cares and that everyone deserves the opportunity to feel seen, respected, and supported.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this clothing distribution possible. Together, we’re helping individuals take meaningful steps toward stability and self-sufficiency, one outfit at a time.Thank you Grace for your support on making this event happen. Firstday.❤️🙏

The Fourth of July is a time to celebrate freedom, independence, and the ideals that bring our communities together. It is also an opportunity to remember that for many individuals and families experiencing homelessness or hardship, the holiday can be a difficult reminder of the challenges they face every day.

As we gather with loved ones, let’s also extend kindness to those who may be celebrating with fewer resources. A shared meal, a smile, a helping hand, or support for local organizations can make a meaningful difference.

At First Day, we believe everyone deserves dignity, hope, and the opportunity to build a brighter future. This Independence Day, let’s celebrate not only our nation’s freedom, but also the power of compassion, community, and caring for one another.

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Another successful intake day at our Pathway facility! We were honored to welcome several new clients as they begin a new chapter filled with hope and opportunity.

At First Day, we’re committed to helping individuals rebuild their lives by providing access to safe housing, nutritious meals, case management, and a wide range of supportive resources designed to promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Every new beginning is a step toward a brighter future, and we’re proud to walk alongside our clients on their journey to independence.

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equity in our communities.
Observed on June 19, Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in the United States were informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It stands as a significant moment in our nation’s history and a call to continue advancing justice.
At First Day, we recognize that the legacy of systemic inequities continues to impact access to housing, economic opportunity, and stability. While we may be reflecting after the day has passed, our commitment to equity, dignity, and opportunity remains constant.
We honor Juneteenth by reaffirming our dedication to creating pathways out of homelessness and ensuring that every individual we serve has access to safe, stable, and supportive housing.

Pride Month is a time to honor the resilience, history, and contributions of LGBTQ+ communities, while reaffirming our commitment to equity and inclusion.
In June, we recognize the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots of 1969, a pivotal moment that ignited a global movement for LGBTQ+ rights and dignity.
At First Day, we acknowledge that LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly youth and transgender individuals, are disproportionately affected by housing instability and homelessness. Pride is not only a celebration of progress, but also a call to action to ensure that everyone has access to safe, affirming, and stable housing.
We remain committed to creating inclusive spaces where all individuals are respected, supported, and empowered to thrive.
