Thanksgiving Dinner is back at Saint Matthias! Details below.

From the Midweek Update:

On Thanksgiving Day we will serve dinners to members of our community. Meals will be distributed from 10AM to 1PM on Thanksgiving Day, in the patio immediately adjacent to the Chase Room. We are so fortunate to be able to renew and continue this St. Matthias tradition.

In order for our effort to be timely and successful we need your help. If you would like to make a monetary contribution in the form of a check please make it payable to St. Matthias with a memo notation for Thanksgiving Dinner.

We also need volunteers for several different tasks. On Tuesday, November 23, beginning at 10AM we need support with shredding turkey and preparing mashed potatoes and other meal components. This year’s meal will be served on a take-out basis. So we need volunteers to help pack dinners on Wednesday, November 24, beginning at 10AM. A sign-up sheet is available in the narthex.

Many thanks to Wei-San Mohindar, Larry Christian and Dave Donovan for their work in developing and coordinating this new plan for Thanksgiving in our St. Matthias community. Please, Don’t forget to add your name to our list of volunteer participants on the sign-up sheets this Sunday! In response to COVID-19, we've transitioned to serving sack lunches. Donations of paper lunch sacks are needed. They can be dropped off at the office during the week or at the entrance to on Sundays. As always, monetary donations are also welcome.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Saint Matthias' annual sock drive during the month of August. Over 400 pairs of socks were donated for our Soup Hour guests.
