Open Waters Foundation is a dedicated to connecting fathers and, father figures to connect with their child(red) between the ages of 15-17 using deep sea fishing experiences. Through these excursions, fathers and their child(ren) can experience the ocean and build a healthy relationship. Open Water believes that fathers are key teachers to their child(ren) emotional, social, mental and we

ll-being. These valuable trips assist fathers to spend quality time with their child(ren) and increase their connectedness to each other. Open Waters operates year-round providing open water, deep sea fishing experiences. Most trips occur during spring to early fall months. Open Waters helps send fathers, families, and children from various non-profit organizations on free deep sea fishing excursions

Open Waters operates out of Los Angeles area and provides enriching deep sea fishing experiences from various ocean landings covering Los Angeles county to Orange county. Fishing trips are on U.S Coast Guard licensed fishing charter boats. UNIQUE PARTNERSHIP
This creative partnership is with renowned Los Angeles Chef Ricardo Diaz. The uniqueness of Open Waters provides fathers with a culinary experience. Led by Chef Ricardo Diaz, fathers will be taught how to simply prepare and cook their line-caught catch. From Line-to-table approach promotes sustainable and healthy eating habits.

Hello everyone,
OpenWaters Foundation will be hosting its first Fishing Club meeting on Saturday, February, 21st from 12-2 pm. Location is at the Whittier Brewing Company, 13002 Philadelphia Ave, Whittier, 90601. This is a FREE FREE event 🐟 and is a Family Friendly event. No dues...No fees.

Our first speaker is our local fishing expert Anthony Cannuli. He will be covering "Tackle Preparation for the 2026 Season." Jig fishing will also be covered. Anthony has a vast knowledge of information on set-ups and techniques, so don't miss out.

Ricardo M Lopez will be covering Openwaters' Mission, Openwater Family Trips and charters for 2026.

We will be raffling TWO spots for our Openwaters Fishing Trips in September ($300 value). We will also have a raffle for fishing gear. 🔥🔥🔥

We hope to see you there! The Whittier Brewing Co has awesome selection of beer & tasty food.

This is will support OpenWaters Foundation for 2026 Charter Trips.

💰Our goal is to reach $3000-$5000 (or more). Winner takes 1/2 of the money, two spots on our Openwaters Fishing trip ($350), and a tackle kit ($100).

💰Drawing will be on Sunday, December 14th @ 8 pm. We will pick the winner on Facebook live. Winner does not need to be present to win. Last day to buy tickets is on Sunday, December 14, @6 pm.
