We are the Texas Chapter of the United States Volunteer Rangers, we are working on becoming and incorporated emergency service, we are not a patriot movement or group although we believe in those honest morale values upheld by the patriot groups, we are basically and quite plainly a scouting group for families, host cookouts, we go hiking, camping, do wilderness survival training, marksmanship training, first aid and medical training, emergency preparedness training, eventually as we grow would like to become a community emergency response group, kinda like a Volunteer Fire Dept, but we aren’t going to burning houses or the everyday bandaid 911 calls. We specialize in areas of survival, preparedness and assisting our communities and surrounding areas with a relief group who can assist when natural disasters occur, or man made disasters, our mission is to prepare ourselves and our families for the worst case scenarios, end of the world type crap but not so dramatic about it I guess you could say, we have rules and regulations that we abide by that are set in place by the National commander as well as the post commanders, as of now we have 3 posts set up or being set up in the country, the founding post is located in Upstate NY post 001, the second post is also in upstate NY post 002, the third post we have just begun to build and create is here in Weatherford, Texas, post 003, we are the youngest post but I believe we have more of a willing and able bodied population to pull together and create such an organization. There are no age requirements or restrictions, anyone can join, man, woman and child (children must be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian at all meetings and rendezvous). Our goal is to better prepare our neighbors and friends throughout our communities for a situation in life that we all hope and pray will never occur but in light of recent events and all the build up of tensions over the course of the last 20 years we all know and believe deep down something is coming but what it is we just don’t know, so we aim to better prepare ourselves and to have a support group we can count on and rely on for help when and if the time comes. All in all it’s kinda like the boy scouts but for everyone, there are ways and means to progress as an individual and as teams through rank and experience, the members who make up our group consist of and come from all walks of life, Firemen, EMS, Law Enforcement, Outdoorsman, Veterans, etc.
Every individual brings a new set of skills and knowledge to our group and a new availability of resources or manpower as well, we depend on each other and learn to strive, survive and succeed as a team and as individuals. All in all it’s a family of its own and if natural disaster never occurs then we will have built fond and enjoyable memories together as a community pulling together and enjoying each other’s company as well as having fun in the process.
