Looking for a kidney donor for Bill to save his life. About a year and a half ago Bill's life changed when he found out his kidneys were failing. Over time, his kidney function has gotten worse and now they are unable to work well enough to keep him alive. His treatment options are limited to dialysis treatments or a kidney transplant. Bill has been involved within the community of Whitney for ye
ars, helping out where he can. He is currently a Hill County Constable, a member of the Lake Whitney Rescue Association, as well as a volunteer firefighter for the Lakeview VFD. As many of you know Bill would do anything to help someone out in any way he can, lets return the favor and find a living donor to help him get a second chance at life. Although this is hard to ask, if you feel this is something you could do, please consider becoming a living donor for Bill. It is fully understood that this is a personal decision that isnt right for everyone. Please know that if you dont feel comfortable with living donation, it will not affect your relationship in any way. Just being apart of his support team means a lot to him. Being a living donor has its perks, you only need one kidney to function normally. If you chose to donate a kidney you will be in a better position if you ever develop kidney failure than he is, you would move to the top of the list should you ever need a kidney. The donors medical expenses including evaluation, surgery and post-op care are covered 100% by Bill's insurance. To be a donor you will need to:
- Know your blood type (If not that is ok)
-Be a non-smoker
- Have no history of uncontrolled high blood pressure, diabetes, major illness, drug or alcohol abuse
