I want to thank the wonderful people of Whitman for their generous donations to the postal workers drive. I also want to thank all the volunteers that assisted with donation pickup and sorting. At present we are at 6247 pounds. If anyone has a donation that did not get picked up they could contact the food pantry at 781-447-8560 to coordinate a pickup or donations can be dropped off at the pantry located at 44 Blake St. Once again thank you all. Hello all my pantry followers. Just a reminder that tomorrow is the postal workers food drive. Hope to see the generous support from this great town of Whitman. Please have donations out before the postal workers come by. There will also be volunteers going around town picking up donations as well. Thank you all for all you do for the food pantry.

The USPS Food Drive is nearing. At this time the food pantry is in need of the following items along with the normal nonperishable canned goods.

No pasta
Pasta sauce
Mac n cheese
Rice and noodle side dishes
Cake mix brownie mix
Jelly both
Coffee
Tea
Facial tissues
Toothpaste Shampoo and conditioner
Ramen noodles
Canned chicken breast
Mayonnaise
Mustard
Diced tomatoes
Flour
Sugar
Cake frosting
Jello and pudding
Salad dressing

For NALC members, serving our communities extends far beyond our mail routes. On Saturday, May 9, letter carriers nationwide will collect donations of non-perishable food to help stock local food banks. Join us in this important effort to ! 🥫📬

Just wanted to give a heads up that the United States Postal Workers food drive will be coming up on May 9th this year. Stay tuned for updates on what the food pantry is in need of. Thanks for your support.

We wanted to reach out and thank the people of the town of Whitman as well as the businesses in and around Whitman for their incredible generosity. The amount of donations helped us get through the Thanksgiving holiday. As you know Christmas is right around the corner, your continued generosity to help us get through the remaining holiday season would be greatly appreciated. Presently the pantry is in need of the following items;
Chicken and beef broth
Beef stew
Mayonnaise
Canned pasta
Fruit cocktail and other canned fruit
Brownie mix
Cake mix
Paper towels ( individually wrapped)
Toilet paper (individually wrapped)
Tissue paper
Dishwashing liquid
Laundry detergent
Canned chowder
These and many other items are needed. There is also the need for gift cards from Stop and shop, Walmart, target and other local supermarkets. These gift cards help our neighbors as SNAP benefits do not cover non food items. Also monetary donations are accepted so the food pantry can purchase items as needed.
All donations can be dropped off at the Whitman Food Pantry Monday through Saturday from 830-1030 AM. Volunteers are at the pantry during these hours. If these hours do not work for you please call the pantry at 781-447-8560 and a time can be scheduled.
Once again, all of us at the food pantry are so thankful for everyone’s continued support.

Scouts Food Drive Update

I wanted to send out an update on this past weekend for the Scpits Food Drive. We have reached the 10,000 pound mark. We want to thank the Scouts, the members and volunteers of the SVDP food pantry, and most of all the very supportive and generous residents of the Town of Whitman. With your continued support we will work towards being able to help the needy families of Whitman. The journey will be tougher as we know from the government shutdown but we will move forward as best we can. Please keep the food pantry in mind moving forward with additional donations if you are able. I am sure the needs of the town people will increase with the cuts. Your continued support is needed and appreciated. Once again thanks you to the awesome people of this town that always come forward in times of need to help their fellow neighbors.

Scouts Troop 22 Food Drive

We wanted to let everyone know that the Scouts will be holding their annual food drive supporting the Whitman Food Pantry.
* Date- Saturday October 25th
Please have your donations outside before 9am on this date.
Scouts will be by to pick up donations starting at 9am.
* The Food pantry truck will be in the parking lot of the Congregational Church on Washington St to collect donations on Saturday the 25th. Scouts will on onsite to collect donations starting at 9am if you wish to stop by.
* Donations may also be brought by the food pantry at 44 Blake St. Volunteers will be there from 9am-5pm.

On Saturday October 18th the Scouts will be installing signs notifying people of the drive. If you would like to support the drive and have a sign installed on your lawn please send your name, address, and phone number to [email protected] and we will get your info to the Scouts. The signs would be installed on the 18th and taken down on the 25th during the food drive.

The pantry is in need of all types of nonperishables. Some of the most needed items are the following:
Cold cereal, ramen noodles, peanut butter, jelly, tea, canned pasta, rice and noodles side dishes like rice a roni and knorrs, instant mashed potatoes, oatmeal, juice(grape and fruit punch), hygiene products, cleaning products(dishwashing liquid and clothes washing liquid), napkins, tissues, brownie mix and cake mix. As always any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

We are grateful that the Scouts and the people of Whitman continue to support the Whitman Food Pantry. Your generous support allows us to continue our work of aiding the people of Whitman that need our help.
