What we store up in our hearts is what comes out of our mouths.
This week on Applying God's Word, Jenee Sanchez shares a message that hits close to home: "Out of the Abundance of Our Hearts We Speak."
Jesus said it plainly in Matthew 12 — the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. So the real question isn't only what we say. It's what we've been storing up.
Is it jealousy, bitterness, anger? Or love, joy, peace, and patience — the fruit of the Spirit?
Here's the good news: God doesn't leave us to repair our own hearts. He tells us to guard them. He promises to give us new hearts. He creates a clean heart within us. And He helps us see what doesn't belong there.
Jenee closes in Proverbs 16:23 — the hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent, and their lips promote instruction.
