The Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to the businesses and citizens of the Whiting/Robertsdale Community in Indiana. Not only does the Chamber promote Whiting businesses and encourage shopping, eating and playing locally, but it also puts on some of the City’s largest events including the famous Pierogi Fest! nting Pierogi Fest which brings over 250,000 visitors to Whiting's retail district. Pierogi Fest was named Event of the Year 1999 and again in 2005 by the Lake County Convention & Visitors Bureau and was recently a featured segment on WTTW's "Wild Chicago," the Food Network's "Great American Festivals," the Travel Channel's " Taste of America" and Travelocity.com's "Local Secrets, Big Finds." It has also made appearances on CBS, ABC, WGN, Fox and CNN. Pierogi Fest was also named one of Oprah's Winfrey's Top Seven Festivals in 2008 under Festivals of Food www.oprah.com . A variety of seasonal events including: the Easter Parade, Garage Mahal, Whiting Dining Alfresco, Pierogi Fest, the Haunted Hayride, Wickedly Whiting, and Whiting's Kris Kringle Market. Publishing The WRite Stuff, the popular free monthly newspaper that is delivered to over 8,000 homes and businesses in Whiting, the Robertsdale neighborhood, and north Hammond. The WRite Stuff covers local news that interests your perspective customers and is the ideal place for your company to advertise. Chamber members receive discounts on advertising and the opportunity for feature stories in the "Meet Our Members" column. Developing advertising for our merchants through use of local billboards, radio interviews and print media.
