With the new school year fast approaching, you might be looking for family friendly extracurricular activities for your child. Cub Scouts offers opportunities for your child to socialize, learn new skills, and give back to their community. Cub Scouts is for children in grade K-5, but siblings are always welcome to join in on the fun. Pack 752 meets during the school year on Tuesday evenings, 6pm, at the Whitewood Volunteer Fire Department. If you have any questions, feel free to send a message.

🚨 FREE Smoke Alarm Program 🚨

The Whitewood Volunteer Fire Department, in partnership with the American Red Cross, is offering FREE smoke alarms to residents in the Whitewood, Pilgrims K**b, and Jewell Valley areas.

📅 Sign-Up Date: Tuesday, July 14, 2026
🕕 Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Location: Whitewood Volunteer Fire Department

Smoke alarms will be installed at a later scheduled date by members of the Whitewood Volunteer Fire Department.

Sunday, March 8, 2026 is International Women's Day. A day to celebrate and recognize women across the globe. I thought it would be appropriate to share some of the historical figures and leaders in Scouting history.

Vera Barclay (1893-1989) was a foundational figure who helped introduce the Cub Scout program and authored the early handbooks.

Catherine Pollard broke gender barriers in the 1970's, becoming the first female Scoutmaster.

Ann W. Nally was the first woman to join the National Court of Honor in 1984. She also helped shape the Cub Scout program and authored the History of Cub Scouting.

Mary Portis became the first female Scout executive in 1990.

All of these women, plus many many more (past, present, and future) have helped shape the Scouting program over the years into the inclusive program it is today. We thank each and every one for their hard work and dedication to the Scouting program.

Cub Scout Pack 752 had the honor to work alongside Whitewood Volunteer Fire Department yesterday to host a luncheon for all law enforcement and wrecker services in Buchanan County. We wanted to show our support and say thank you for everything they do for the members of our small county. Member's from Buchanan County Sherrif's Office and M&M Body Shop and Wreck Service were able to attend and enjoy a delicious hibachi lunch.

The Breaks Interstate Park has conducted their own Groundhog Day and we agree with their results! We hope everyone has remained safe and warm during this snowy, cold weather.

We have no idea what is going to happen in PA tomorrow, but our local meteorological rodent emerged from his burrow today. We are happy to report that with absolutely no assistance from our rangers, the groundhog did not see his shadow. EARLY SPRING EVERYONE!!! 🌺 ☀️ 🐝
