May we never take for granted the liberties our flag represents and always remember those who have served under its colors. Each Memorial Day weekend, the Militiamen gather at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota, to honor our nation’s fallen heroes by placing flags at their graves, a solemn reminder that freedom comes at a profound cost.

This sacred ground is also the final resting place of three of our brothers. In their memory, and in recognition of their service and sacrifice, we gather each year to raise a toast, ensuring their legacy lives on and their names are never forgotten. Photos courtesy of Trista Radensleben

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the extraordinary sacrifice made by the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

As we approach this day of remembrance, we honor those who never made it home and recognize the enduring impact their sacrifice and service have had on generations of Americans. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

Christmas hits a little different when you’ve worn the uniform. It reminds you of the sacrifices made, the brothers and sisters you stand beside, and the freedoms we’re all blessed with—often because someone else stood watch.

This season, I’m grateful for faith, family, and the people who never stop supporting those who serve. Whether you’re home, deployed, or missing someone who is, know you’re not forgotten.
