This Thanksgiving, we’re bringing a little extra love to our local community, and we need YOUR help to make it happen!

Albert's Dog Lounge Rescue, Clyde's Closet - Little Free Pet Pantry, Journey Home Animal Control and Whitewater Walmart have joined forces with one very special goal: to provide up to 36 local families with everything they need to enjoy a complete Thanksgiving dinner together!

And when we say everything, we mean EVERYTHING! Each basket will provide a full Thanksgiving meal for up to 10 people. We’ve even thought of those little things that are so often forgotten!

Each dinner will be packaged in a reusable laundry basket that families can continue using long after Thanksgiving. And because our four-legged family members deserve a little holiday love, too, households with pets will also receive a special pet care basket sponsored by Albert’s Dog Lounge Rescue!

Here’s where YOU come in! We’re looking for sponsors to help make these Thanksgiving dinners possible.

Sponsorship cost just $60 each, and you’re welcome to sponsor as many as you’d like! With 36 baskets, we have the opportunity to provide a complete Thanksgiving dinner for up to 360 people in our community.

Whether you’re an individual, family, group of friends, coworkers, or business, your generosity can help put a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner on a local family’s table. Sponsors can remain completely anonymous or choose to be recognized in future social media posts across our participating organizations. We’d love to celebrate those who help make this possible!

Our goal is to secure sponsorships for all 36 baskets. If fewer than 36 families are identified to receive them, any remaining baskets will be provided to The Community Space in Whitewater to ensure the food reaches others who need it.

Why is this so important to us?

Whitewater and the surrounding township can be more limited than in larger cities. This is where Albert’s Dog Lounge is headquartered and where our neighbors live.

We’ve always believed that some of the biggest changes begin with the smallest acts of kindness, and often, those changes start right in our own backyard. When we come together to support our neighbors, we’re building a stronger, more compassionate community, one that hopefully inspires others to do the same. That kindness can spread far beyond where it began.

We may not be able to change the whole world, but we can make a difference in our little corner of it. And sometimes, that’s exactly where something much bigger begins.

✨ Meet Meena ✨
AKA: Professional Wiggle Worm. Certified Very Good Girl. Queen of the Rollies.
This sweet senior pittie mix from Albert’s Dog Lounge is 57 pounds of cuddles, comedy, and cozy vibes. Meena’s signature move? Suddenly throwing herself onto the ground for a full-body wiggle session because apparently EVERY location is the perfect place to stop, drop, and ROLLLLLL. Grass? Great. Carpet? Amazing. Your lap? Also acceptable. 😂
Meena is living her best life in Madison, WI and looking for a forever family that appreciates:

🐾 Fetch attempts fueled more by enthusiasm than athleticism

CASSIE UPDATE:

Recently, we shared the story of Cassie, a senior girl who found herself at Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) and was in desperate need of some extra care. MADACC reached out to Albert's Dog Lounge to see if we could help, and we welcomed Cassie into our program.

More than 95% of the response to Cassie's story was absolutely wonderful. So many of you showed compassion, offered encouragement, and rooted for this sweet girl. For that, we are incredibly grateful.

But we would be lying if we said we weren't disheartened by some of the other comments.

It was heartbreaking to see how many people looked at a photograph of a dog they had never met, knew nothing about medically, and immediately decided that she should be euthanized. That she was suffering beyond help. That she had no chance of enjoying a good quality of life.

And that's exactly why we want to share this update.

LOOK AT CASSIE NOW! Cassie is doing AMAZING!

Her progress has been remarkable, and as you can see from her updated photos, she continues to improve by leaps and bounds. Her medical needs are significant, and we knew from the beginning that her recovery wasn't going to happen overnight. But Cassie is stable, responding beautifully to her care, and looking better all the time.

And here's something else we want everyone to know. We absolutely believe Cassie has a future as an adoptable dog.

She still has some healing to do and will continue to need medical care, but we see a future for Cassie that includes comfort, happiness, and eventually, a family of her very own.

At Albert's Dog Lounge, quality of life is always at the forefront of our decisions. We work closely with our veterinary professionals to make compassionate, informed decisions about the dogs in our care. We will never prolong suffering simply because we can, but we also believe that dogs deserve an opportunity to heal when there is a reasonable path toward a good quality of life.

Cassie is a beautiful reminder of why that matters.

Since joining our program, Cassie has had numerous veterinary appointments, treatments, and ongoing medical care. Those appointments have made a tremendous difference, and we are committed to continuing her care for as long as she needs us.

Albert’s Dog Lounge will be at **Czar’s Promise Inspiring Hope Walk** at McKee Farms Park in Fitchburg, and we would love to see you!

There will be over 20 vendors, food trucks, and a walk benefiting Czar’s Promise, all coming together for an incredible cause!

We’ll also have some very special four-legged guests stopping by our booth throughout the day! **Rocky, Meena, Ken, Theo, and Obi** are all hoping to make an appearance and meet some potential forever families!

**A little note about our adoptable dogs:** Some may only be visiting for a few hours, while others may be there for the entire event. Depending on how they're feeling that day, some may not make it at all. We always let our dogs tell us what they're comfortable with, and their well-being comes first. We appreciate your understanding!

💕 **Meet Molly!** 💕

Molly is an 11-year-old, 49-pound chocolate beauty who has officially retired from the hustle and bustle of life. Her idea of a perfect day? **Couch. Snuggles. Her baby. Repeat.** 😂

This girl is a professional lounger, expert spooner, and certified love bug. She’s low energy, quiet, house trained, and perfectly happy spending her days relaxing with her people. She enjoys a little playtime, but hiking? Absolutely not. 😂

Molly came from Alabama as a stray and has been through more than her fair share. Now she’s ready for the cozy life she deserves.

She loves people, kids, dogs, and even cats, and she’s also been around horses, donkeys, and chickens. She does need a **friendly, easygoing canine companion** and a **securely fenced yard**. Molly is not a fan of leash walks, so having a yard makes life much easier for this professional couch potato.

One of Molly’s most important things is her beloved stuffed “baby,” which she uses for comfort. Her new family will need to make sure her baby stays safe and sound. ❤️

She’s also a big-time thunderstorm snuggler and would much rather be tucked under the covers with her people when the weather gets scary.

Molly isn’t looking for adventure. She’s looking for a soft couch, a loving family, a dog friend, and someone who understands that sometimes the best life is a **really, really cozy one.** 🥹

❤️ **Meet Leon!** ❤️

Seven years of waiting, and now a whole lifetime of love ahead. 🥹

Leon is a 7-year-old, 6.5-pound red Toy Poodle who came from a puppy mill and is learning what it means to be a beloved family pet.

He’s a shy, gentle little guy who needs time to trust and feel comfortable. But once he relaxes, his sweet, playful personality starts to peek through—and those little moments are pretty special. ❤️ He especially loves stroller rides and getting to experience the world from the safety of his ride.

Leon is making great progress with potty training and will need a patient family who is willing to go at his pace and celebrate the little victories along the way. A confident, friendly dog would be a huge help in showing him that the world isn’t so scary.

A quiet, calm home without young children would be best for Leon, and a securely fenced yard is required. He is friendly with older kids and dogs and has not been cat tested.

Leon doesn’t need someone to fix him. He just needs someone willing to show him, one small step at a time, how wonderful life can be. 🌈

🐾 MEET BERT — YOUR FUTURE ADVENTURE BUDDY 🐾
Bert is a 44-lb Australian Shepherd mix with a BIG brain, BIG heart, and even bigger personality. He’s smart, affectionate, hilarious, and always ready for his next adventure. Think hiking, training, frisbee, agility, exploring… followed by serious couch-and-snuggle time. ❤️
Bert is the kind of dog who thrives when you take the time to understand him. He may need a little time to trust new people, but once you’re his person, you’re REALLY his person. Expect bed-crawling morning snuggles, belly-rub requests, zoomies, and plenty of goofy expressions. 😂
This boy loves to learn and training is one of his favorite things. He knows skills like sit, down, wait, off, roll over, and sit pretty, and he’d love a family who enjoys continuing to work with him. A securely fenced yard is a must for his zoomies, frisbee sessions, and backyard parkour. 🤸‍♂️
Bert does well with thoughtfully introduced dogs and would love a confident, compatible dog friend. He is not a good fit for cats. Children should be 12+ and dog-savvy.
Bert has a few quirks: he prefers to keep all four paws on the ground, isn’t a fan of having his feet handled, and can get VERY excited about treats and his people coming home. Nail trims may require a premed, and he needs a family willing to respect his boundaries and continue building his confidence.
Bert isn’t looking for someone to “fix” him. He’s looking for someone who gets him—someone patient, active, and ready to build a genuine relationship with one incredibly smart, loyal, goofy dog.
Adventure outside. Snuggles inside. Training in between.
That’s the Bert lifestyle. 🐶❤️

🩶 **Meet Shadow!** 🩶

Shadow is a 7-year-old, 40-pound Schnauzer mix who is ready to leave his stray days behind and find his forever family.

This handsome guy is friendly, smart, obedient, curious, and VERY social. He loves people, loves dogs, loves getting pets, and has plenty to say about just about everything. 😂 He’s definitely a chatty guy with some opinions!

Shadow loves playing with his foster dog sibling and does great with cats, mostly because he couldn’t care less about them. He’s housebroken, crate trained, knows his basic commands, and is exceptionally well behaved around the house.

He is working through some separation anxiety, which has already improved a lot. He’ll just need a family willing to give him a little patience and help him continue building confidence.

Shadow recently had a large lipoma removed from his chest and is recovering beautifully.

If you’re looking for a handsome, curly-headed gentleman who loves people, dog friends, and a good conversation, Shadow might be your guy. 🥰

💛 **MAZZY STARR IS STILL WAITING.** 💛

And honestly… we don't understand how this girl is still waiting for her person.

Mazzy is a 4-year-old, 42-pound yellow Lab who has been available for adoption for **far too long.** She has so much love to give, and we desperately want to see her finally get the family she’s been waiting for. 🥺

This girl **LOVES people.** She loves hugs, car rides, sunshine, sleeping in the big bed, treats, and following her humans around to supervise absolutely everything. If you're a person, Mazzy wants to be your best friend. If you're a person carrying a toolbox? She may love you even more. 😂🛠️

She’s housebroken, trustworthy free-roaming, walks nicely on leash, and is an excellent car passenger. She really is ready to settle into a home and just **be someone’s dog.** ❤️

Mazzy does need to be your one-and-only dog, and cats aren't her thing. Big trucks and farm equipment are also highly suspicious in her opinion. She has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which means her skin is extra delicate, so she just needs gentle handling and a little extra care.

But what Mazzy really needs is **someone to choose her.**

Someone who sees her goofy smile and big personality and thinks, *“Yep. That's my girl.”*

Someone who will give her the big bed, the car rides, the sunshine, the hugs, and all the love she's been waiting for.
