🇺🇸 Post 173 is grateful for the incredible volunteers who help make Memorial Day weekend possible.

From the 4-H members, Girl Scouts, VFW Post 5470, Whitewater, WI brothers and sisters, and community volunteers who helped cover Hillside Cemetery in flags for our veterans, to the Legionnaires preparing the old armory for tomorrow’s ceremony, we truly could not do it without all of you.

We are proud to be part of a community that continues to show such care and respect for those who served. Thank you for continuing the traditions that make Whitewater special. ❤️

We hope to see you tomorrow for the Memorial Day Parade and armory program, where we will welcome guest speaker Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Jonathan Roe.

On Saturday, May 23rd at 2:00 p.m. members of American Legion Post 173 will gather in the center of Hillside Cemetery to decorate the veterans' graves at the cemetery. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H clubs and all other community members are invited to participate. Post 173 will provide the flags.

🇺🇸 The American Legion Flag Disposal Box is available for the respectful retirement of worn or damaged American flags.

📍 Location: In front of the apartments at 292 S Wisconsin St

Please use this drop-off point to ensure flags are retired with the dignity they deserve.

💜 Purple Up! for Military Families 💜

Tornado sirens? No problem! We still had a productive meeting and a fun social hour on Thursday (basements FTW).

Now the exciting part—we’ve finalized our Purple Up! event and can’t wait to see you there!
