The Whitewater Community Foundation is now accepting applications for Fall Community Action Grants. https://whitewatercommunityfoundation.org/community-action-grants/

Grants will be awarded to local non-profit organizations actively working to support the greater Whitewater community with educational, cultural, charitable and benevolent projects that will benefit and improve the community.

Projects are expected to be accomplished within a specific period of time (generally not more than one year) and should be creative, innovative and address community needs. Organizations interested in pursuing a Whitewater Community Foundation Action Grant should check out the Foundation web site at or contact Ginny Coburn at [email protected] for more information. The deadline for submitting applications is October 31, 2026.

Virginia Coburn, WCF Board Member who chairs the Community Action Grant Selection Committee, said, “I’m inspired by the number of local organizations sponsoring programs and projects to benefit the community. The Foundation has given grants to The Community Space, Whitewater Food Pantry, Bethel House, Studio 84, Fairhaven Pollinator Garden, Whitewater Youth Soccer, Whitewater Public Library, Wisconsin Makers, and much more. I invite you to read the pages on our website to see if one of your projects is eligible for an action grant.”

The Foundation continues to provide and host scholarships for Whitewater High School students and also offers fiscal sponsorship to organizations that are seeking 501(c) (3) status or require temporary pass-through funds for worthy community projects.

On Aug. 19, 2026, WCF board members were happy to celebrate the new Whitewater Fire Department Training Facility at 1220 Innovation Drive!

This new space will provide our Fire & EMS personnel with hands-on training opportunities right here in Whitewater — helping them stay prepared, build skills and better serve our community. The space was made possible through the generous support of the Chief C.G. Hickey Memorial Fund, administered by the Whitewater Community Foundation and First Citizens State Bank. Thank you to Ryan Dion, assistant fire & EMS chief, and everyone who helped bring this project from vision to reality!

Congratulations to WCF board member Ginny Coburn, who was named 2026 Volunteer of the Year by the City of Whitewater at their Community Stars Gala on Friday, Aug. 14.

Ginny was honored for her extensive volunteer service with the Senior Center Respite Program, Dementia Friendly Community Initiative, Lakes Advisory Committee, Whitewater Community Foundation, Senior Center programs, and other community efforts. Please join us in congratulating Ginny!

The Whitewater Community Foundation has presented the spring 2026 grants, which include $500 for Studio 84, $485.58 for the League of Women Voters of Whitewater Area, $750 to Clyde’s Closet, and $750 for the Fairhaven Foundation on behalf of the Fairhaven Pollinator Garden.

“These organizations are doing important work to benefit the Whitewater community. Providing this funding to fuel their efforts and make a difference in the lives of our residents is our key purpose,” said Virginia Coburn, chair of the Community Action Grant committee for the Whitewater Community Foundation.
