The Whitewater Lions Club once again hosted VIPs from BOLD to participate in their 14th Annual water sports event. Folks arrived mid-morning at our beautiful facility on Whitewater Lake to be served a picnic lunch of hot dogs, brats, burgers, and salads of all kinds. Then it was out to the boats for tubing, water skiing, and boat tours around the lake along with the highly anticipated fishing derby. Volunteers from the local Whitewater Lake community brought their boats and expertise while the Lions provided fishing tackle and life vests. All vessels returned safely around 3:00 pm to be greeted with an ice cream sundae plus cookies extravaganza! A presentation of awards for fish and skiing rounded out the day. Everyone, including VIPs, guides, boat crews, and Lions left with smiles knowing that we all participated in a community building event that lasts far beyond the day. Truly another way that we serve!

There were plenty of smiles and congratulations at the Whitewater Lions Club’s recent New Member Initiation and Officer Installation ceremony. From right to left, Vice District Governor Sue Jones welcomed new members Cindy Millian and Dawn Edwards to our club. Ladies, we’re looking forward to serving with you! Sue then swore in the officers for the ’26 – 27 Lionistic year. An able group! And we have Immediate Past President Steve Malone handing the gavel over to our incoming Club President Ed Segraves. Ed, we’re looking forward to your leadership, and another great year of serving our community!

The Whitewater Lions recently hosted our annual “Parade of Checks” event at the clubhouse on Whitewater Lake. The Lions Parade of Checks is a long‑standing tradition in which our club presents its charitable donations to local service organizations. Guests from 14 organizations were treated to a social hour during which we got to better know the groups and the people behind them. After sandwiches and delicious desserts were enjoyed by all, Lion President Steve Malone presented donation checks. Pictured here are Lion Steve with a few of our guests, including Kelly from Whitewater Fire Department, Kolaya from Smiles, and Ruby and Sarah from the Girl Scouts. Truly a most satisfying way that the Whitewater Lions serve our community!

On May 1st you can give a little bit of joy to someone special. The Whitewater Lions Club is hosting their annual May Day Basket fundraiser. For $5 your recipient will receive a paper basket containing a paper flower and assorted candy. The order form is in Google Docs, address below, please fill out one form per delivery address. Orders due by 4/25, and are limited to addresses in the Whitewater School District. Orders will be delivered on Friday May 1 approximately between 7-8 am.

The 50th Fish a Ree is over, the Pancake Breakfast response was overwhelming. Thank you to all participants. The 50/50 raffle was won by Kathy Harris.

Thanks to everyone that donated hides. I will not be collecting hides after December 12th. Not quite as many as last year, but all proceeds help the Lions Camp at Rothschild.
