This Thursday, Nov. 3rd at 3:30 pm in UC 0069, SASA will be showing the PBS documentary 'The Choice', which focuses on the backgrounds of each candidate from a more sociological perspective. There will also be a discussion led by guest speaker professor Fucilla.

There will be plenty of refreshments. Hope to see you there!

Summer is almost over and a new semester begins!

We have tentatively set our 2016 fall semester meeting times for every other Thursday at 3:30 in Hyer Hall 142, beginning the 3rd week into the semester. If anyone has any conflicts with this time, please send me a note before September 3rd.

Also, the student involvement fair is Sept 6th and SASA will have a booth. Please check us out!!

This organization's main goal is to gain more knowledge and have hands on experience in the fields of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice.

Tomorrow's meeting will be at 3pm instead of 4! Same location in Hyer 142. We welcome anyone interested in running for an office position for next semester.

By the way, the 'Identifying Child Abuse' certification course was a big success - almost 40 people attended! Thanks to those who came out!

Just a reminder that we have two events coming up this coming Thursday, Feb 25th:

1) Our second involvement booth in the UC from 1-3:45 - free cookies and candy!

2) Our meeting which will be shortly after, roughly 4:00 in Hyer 142 (the conference room). Bring your friends!

SASA, There is a "Boxes and Walls" event happening on campus, which is something I think we should consider going to as a group.

"Boxes and Walls can best be described as an interactive Haunted House. Instead of walking through rooms full of ghouls and ghosts, the participants walk through various experiences of diversity and oppression. We will be showcasing the African-American, Latino/Latina, Disability, LGB, Gender, and Socio-Economic Status experiences."

It will begin on Sunday, October 11 from 10am-4pm and go through Monday, October 12 to Thursday,October 15 from 6pm-10pm in Esker Hall.
