Downtown Whitewater, Inc. is a volunteer-driven organization spearheading community efforts to re-energize and enhance our historic downtown. We are community advocates and volunteers who share a passion for Whitewater. We bring people from all walks of life together to celebrate Whitewater’s history and traditions, to care for our downtown neighborhood, and to inspire confidence and investments t

hat are flowing toward an economically vibrant, engaging and exciting place in the heart of Whitewater – a place we love, a place we’re proud to call home, and a place where future generations can grow and take pride in calling their own. uses the Main Street Approach and advocates a return to community self-reliance, local empowerment, and the rebuilding of traditional commercial districts based on their unique assets: distinctive architecture, a pedestrian-friendly environment, personal service, local ownership, and a sense of community. The underlying premise of the Main Street approach is to encourage economic development within the context of historic preservation in ways appropriate to today's marketplace. The Main Street approach is incremental; it is not designed to produce immediate change. In order to succeed, a long-term revitalization effort requires careful attention to every aspect of downtown — a process that takes time and requires leadership and local capacity building.

The City of Whitewater Parks & Recreation Department is
excited to announce that it will be coordinating the 2026 4th of July Parade!

⭐ 2026 Theme "America 250" ⭐

The 4th of July Parade is a beloved Whitewater tradition, bringing residents, families, and visitors together to celebrate community spirit, patriotism, and summertime fun.

The Parks & Recreation Department looks forward to carrying on this tradition and sharing more details as planning progresses.

Community members are encouraged to stay up to date by following the Whitewater Parks & Recreation and City of Whitewater pages, and visiting:

A magical snow filled night.
Thank you Generac for sponsoring our Annual Parade!
Thank you to everyone that braved the cold & snow and joined us for the parade. We are thankful for our volunteers who helped man the barricades. Also, shoutout to Whitewater Police Department for their assistance in keeping us safe during the event! Thanks to the City of Whitewater Streets Department for putting the “no parking” signs & barricades at each intersection.

You all loved supporting our little entrepreneur (granddaughter Sydney) last week — thank you! 💛

Good news: this week it’s her sister Jordy’s turn! She’ll be baking Mini Chocolate Zucchini Cakes and selling them at our table at the Whitewater City Market this Tuesday (September 2).

You can find her cakes on the order form along with the rest of this week’s lineup. We sold out a bit early last week, so if there’s something you’ve got your eye on, we recommend placing a preorder in advance.
