The goals and objectives of the Black Student Union are as follows:

• To promote a higher level of scholastic achievement

• To meet the needs of Black students at UW-Whitewater

• To raise political consciousness of Black students at UW-Whitewater by sponsoring forum discussions, educational workshops on issues that is important to black people.

• To find and implement ways to assist the econom

ic, social, and cultural development of Black communities by sponsoring community service projects and activities.

• To increase the awareness of the Black community by sponsoring programs, speakers, workshops, and cultural events.

• To foster harmony and equality in the UW-Whitewater community.

• To encourage unity among and maximize the participation of the Black students in order to ensure the success of the Black Student Union.
