πππ’ 4-H Exploration Camp Day 2 Was Full of Adventure! π’ππ
What an incredible day we had at 4-H Exploration Camp!
We started our morning learning the fundamentals of pickleball and practicing our new pickleball skills on the court. The youth had a blast learning the game and showing off their moves!
After working up an appetite, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Dale's Seafood before heading off for an afternoon packed with exciting learning opportunities.
A huge thank you to the amazing teams at Lake Waccamaw Fire & Rescue and the Lake Waccamaw Police Department for welcoming our campers. Youth had the opportunity to tour police vehicles, fire trucks, and explore the equipment first responders use every day. One of the biggest highlights was trying on firefighter gear and learning about the Junior Firefighter Program. We may have some future first responders in our group!
Next, we learned all about sea turtle conservation from the dedicated volunteers of the Holden Beach Turtle Patrol. Campers discovered how volunteers protect turtle nests, educate beach visitors, and help ensure sea turtles have a safe place to hatch and grow.
The excitement continued when the youth got to meet Shelly, the box turtle! Shelly is currently recovering and will be released back into the wild once she has fully healed.
We wrapped up the day with afternoon snacks and time with Ranger Scott before heading home from another unforgettable day of exploration, learning, and fun.
