Who we are: The Columbus County Wranglers were founded on June 30, 2019 we are comprised of men from nearly every walk of life. The Columbus County Wranglers are composed of men who have a passion for the game of football, a commitment to their community, and a burning desire to be the best men they can possibly be on and off the field.
About us: Our players range in experience from former high school players and players that may have never even played the game of football, along with former NCAA College Players. Our athletes are NOT COMPENSATED; in fact they have to PAY to be a member of this team and to play this wonderful game of football. The Wranglers are always expected to treat the game of football with the same passion and respect that those guys who play on Sunday afternoons do. Sometimes that passion and commitment can lead developing Wranglers to take their talents to higher levels like collegiate or professional opportunities. In fact, in our first season there will be a chance for our active roster players to tryout for the Carolina Cobras Arena team of Greensboro N.C free of charge through our membership in the Coastal Football Alliance. We have nine former college players on our roster. One of which was recruited from playing semi-professional football with the Wilmington Tigers to Elizabeth City State University.
Propose: Focused on giving young men and at-risk adults an opportunity to play the sport they love as well as giving them an opportunity to a college education, college football or arena football. We plan on getting our college bound players into Southeastern Community College on a 2 year transfer program, while they compile game film going towards them trying out(walk-on) for a college team. Those of our players who would like to play on the next level (arena football), will be granted that opportunity through receiving invitations to open arena tryouts from their game play/film. Through the recruitment of recent high school graduates of whom make have lacked the grades or the playing time, we will continue to provide them the same opportunities as our former players.
Mission:We will provide a second chance to individuals ages 18+; who have not obtained an opportunity for a college education, college dropouts, and a chance for our players to be mentors to the youth. Our organization will be geared towards our players, our youth, and our community. The Wranglers will provide leadership roles for our players teaching them how to come together an work as a team, to give ordinance and receive ordinance that they make exercise these skills in their future endeavors. The Wranglers organization plans on being a staple in the community for young and elderly individuals alike, to be an example of great men, leaders, and role models.
