🚨 GOLF CART PERMITS & VIOLATION FEES 🚨

The Town of Lake Waccamaw would like to remind residents that the rules governing golf cart operation have not changed. However, the fee schedule for permits and violations has been updated, and the Lake Waccamaw Police Department will be actively enforcing all golf cart regulations.

Any golf cart inspected from January 2026 to present may come in to receive the new inspection sticker to display on their windshield.

📋 Annual Golf Cart Inspection & Permit: $25

⚠️ Violation Penalties

• Equipment Violations – $100
• Operating Without a Valid Driver's License – $75
• Insurance Violations – $100
• Reckless Driving – $125
• Impeding the Flow of Traffic (Failure to Yield) – $75
• Speeding – $75
• Registration Violations – $100
• Operating in a Prohibited Area – $75
• Underage Operation – $75

Residents are reminded that all golf carts operated within town limits must be properly registered, insured, and operated in accordance with local ordinances and North Carolina law.

The purpose of these regulations is to promote safety for golf cart operators, passengers, pedestrians, and motorists throughout our community.
