LCF Pantry will have our Monthly Drive-Thru this Wednesday, Feb. 18th at the Shriners Bldg. in Whitesburg.

Begin between 11- 11:30 and lasts until the food is gone. Each family in your car must have a valid Letcher Cty. ID or a piece of mail showing your name and address.

Be polite to the volunteers and cars around you. We look forward to seeing you.

The Letcher Cty. Food Pantry is watching the weather as closely as possible to determine whether we can open or not. If it's not possible for our neighbors to get out of their hollers our volunteers can't either. YES, we worry about you and your food situation. You are in our prayers 😞

We will post each morning to let you know if we can open or not. Watch out for your neighbors and help them when and if you can.

Due to the weather the Letcher Cty Food Pantry will be closed this week. Our county is in our prayers. Stay warm and safe. We hope we are open to serve our neighbors next week

Important Update: Drive-Thru Food Pantry Giveaway

Due to the weather and a shortage of volunteers that can safely make it, the drive-thru food pantry giveaway has been canceled.

We truly hate to make this decision, but the safety of our volunteers and our community must come first.

Good news:
The food pantry WILL be OPEN to receive January food boxes on the following days:

🕙 Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
🕐 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

The last day for the Letcher County Food Pantry will be Friday, December 23rd. We will not be open to give out food again until Wednesday, January 7th. Please make arrangements to pick up your box for Dec. by the 19th.

We will be doing a drive-thru on Dec. 17th at the Shriners Bldg. in Whitesburg.

TIME; 11- until the food is gone.

This is my first post on our new page. I have so many emotions in my heart concerning the past week but so many in our county deserve the praise, not me.

First of all are Katie Caudill, Willa Johnson, and Brittany Hunsucker. They did the majority of our shopping, filling the Blessing Boxes here in the county and delivering to families who had no way to get to the Pantry. They also took our pictures that appeared on FB.

Secondly, all the wonderful people who dropped off donations at the pantry or the drop off places. We also had monetary donations both locally and from people who have moved away but still love Letcher County. We were amazed at how much you all cared about what we were doing.

Third and by no means least is my crew who volunteer every week to help those who have food insecurity each and every month. Imogene Smith, Cheryl Furby, Dessie Shepherd, Larry Pressly,
Russell Bates, Tammy Whitaker, Clara Whitaker, Vernus Sturgill, and Richard Whitaker.

A special thanks to Sam Adams, Shannon Hale and Amanda, her girls and Kevin Day.

Evidently, this is not over with yet. Please, don't forget us and the need in our county.
