As Fall comes quietly, let us come to Whitesburg this Saturday morning for great event. As an avid fan of grilled/fried spam, I hope to see you all in town.

When Community Agricultural Nutritional Enterprises, Inc.- CANE gives you pineapples, the farmers market has a Luau! Join us this Saturday at the City of Whitesburg / Letcher County Farmers' Market for a market Luau. We will have pineapple and spam sandwiches, fender blender tropical smoothies, community drum circle and fresh local produce. Our market is currently at 91 Madison Street under the solar pavilion from 9am-12pm. We hope to see you there!

Great day at the Jenkins Amphitheater on Friday during their first annual wildlife awareness day. The Cumberland Mt. Arts and Crafts group was a good sponsor. Any time we can educate children about our wildlife, birds, and their habitat is a win win. Kudos to the exhibitors from 4-H and Fish & Game. The Bear Workshop presentation was the kids best part. The district looks forward to their Wildlife Day.

And now we begin our season of the caterpillars. Many may view them as munching monsters but remember you love them when you meet them again in the next stage of their lives. For most people we ask you just observe and protect their habitats. Promote flight, and pollination.
