Once again - greetings from an old, dead account! It's nice to be able to reach out from this one, at least once a year, to let you guys know about another KILLER show in this area! (Even if it's not mine this time!)

Last year - I let y'all know about the 1st Annual KSP Cruising with Cruisers Show - and it was a HUGE success! Not only did it manage to bring in over 160 vehicles (in just 6 weeks of planning), but Over $12,000 was raised for Shop with a Trooper - thanks to YOU ALL! The scene never ceases to amaze me; this was the largest Shop with a Trooper fundraiser IN HISTORY - all because of minitruckers and show car people like y'all reading this now!

This year, the 2nd Annual KSP Cruising with Cruisers Car Show is slated for October 15th, 2022 - and it's already shaping up to be a much more fun and well rounded event. As the flyer states, it's once again to be held at the old Whitesburg High School from 11-4. The guys and gals behind it have made some changes, so room for an additional 40-50 vehicles this year! Plus, live entertainment, and a food court to die for - headlined by John Molloy's BBQ , Caudill Kettle Korn and Jayma's Street Foods. Vendors row will be highlighted once again by the pinstriping talents of Brandon Shirley and Blake Hileman, plus several other vendors!

A special POLICE CRUISERS' ROW will be a focus point - as police departments from all over are encouraged to attend and be celebrated right along with everybody there. There is even a special BEST CRUISER AWARD! The mayor herself even has a special pick!

Tons of awards - all of them are kids pick. Entry fee is by donation only; you give what you think the experience is worth to you!

Finally.... the KING OF THE MOUNTAIN CRUISE IN that evening on the top of pine mountain! This thing will be an event all in and of itself, complete with it's own raffle items and window stickers! After the show, join in on a police led, lights and siren cruise leaving from the old high school right up Pine Mountain - where there will be firepits, additional live entertainment, and a completely new food court - this time, ran by student organizations from the Letcher County Central High School - serving everything from Blondie Brownies to Polish Sausage! (And there may just be a major surprise that night everybody will want to see - details on that soon!)

There's a lot more to this show than I can even begin to put here - but I wanted to make all the old "H-word" fans aware of what was happening, and give them a reason once again to hit Whitesburg HARD in a few weeks!

Check out the 2nd Annual KSP Cruising with Cruisers Car Show page for more information on this show! You won't regret it!

I bet it's strange to see posts pop up from this account! :)

Y'all enjoying your Labor Day weekend? This time of year was always a fun time of year for me - especially now that I have a cool new show on my mind.

This page serves a good purpose occasionally; like when I'm trying to get the word out about a minitrucker friendly show (keep reading!) whose cause is VERY near and dear to my heart - plus one I think anyone in this region will really enjoy.

If you're in the area on Saturday, October 16th, consider checking this out. It's the 1st Annual KSP "Cruising with Cruisers" Car Show and Night-Time Fun Session in Whitesburg, Kentucky. The show benefits the same charity that we always did, the Post 13 Kentucky State Police Shop with a Trooper program to help children in this area -who might not otherwise have a Christmas to celebrate - actually do just that.

The show itself is a one day show, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and it is open to all makes and models of vehicles. There will be some special awards, most of which are picked by the kids in attendance, yet there will be some special stuff too - make sure you check out the official FB page for this show for updates over the next few days! Now, this is not MY show, but the KSP was kind enough to ask me to jump on board as somewhat of an advisory role and this is one of the VERY few causes I really get behind, soooo.. with that said, the night time festivities start at 5:00pm in downtown Whitesburg that night.

You heard it right - read between the lines here - there will be some minitrucker friendly fun in Downtown Whitesburg KY that night.

For the show itself, it's held at the old Whitesburg High School in Whitesburg, Ky (38 College Drive, Whitesburg KY, 41858 on GPS - or the site of H-word Lite if so inclined). Plenty of pavement and grass. There will be vendors (including Drivn Clothing who committed within minutes of hearing about it!), live entertainment/DJ, commemorative window stickers, and special awards (again, follow the official FB page KSP Cruising with Cruisers Car Show for more info soon!). The entry fee is just a monetary donation, just whatever you feel like giving.

I'll spare you all with more details for now - but keep in mind, if you're in this area on Saturday October 16th and want to enjoy a legit fun show with a great charity at heart - plus see some of the wicked Kentucky State Police show cruisers on display - put this on your calendar.

(Also - taking a limited number of non-food vendors with just a couple spaces still available - my number is on the bottom of the flyer, shoot me a text or a FB message if interested in joining in the fun!). If you guys and gals have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me asap!

It always amazes me that people still occasionally like this page :)

That being said - I hardly ever look here anymore, but for those of you guys that are still interested in the hillbilly view of the Minitruck scene and are in need of something to combat cabin fever, I implore you to check out my latest passion project - the Lowest Common Denominator Podcast !

We are only three episodes in (technically three parts of our 2020 Year in Preview), but have managed to amass some great special guests already - in episode 2, we speak to Dr. Byron Thomas about the COVID-19 pandemic and how it affects the show world as we know it. In episode 3, our guest is Justin Wyatt where he discusses East Tennessee Showdown - Lined up for the next few episodes is Jeffrey Dillard to talk with us about Layd out at the Park (the history of, and maybe even future plans?) and we also have some great "Legends' Series" in queue with legendary guests such as Shannon Rod Bullis , JoeyandBrandy Brewer and Clint Perkins among others! Plus coming soon - panels with multiple guests (including Big Club/Small Club free for all discussion!)

I mean. Hell. What else are y'all doing right now? Do some social distancing and give Shay Mullins and myself a listen. You can find the on Spotify, Google Podcasts, and a few other places. I look forward to the day that somebody with a much longer shelf life than I do steps up to put on a mini truck show in eastern Kentucky. There’s a couple of great ones starting to grow such as pieced together and next year revolution in Middlesboro, but for now I thought you guys may enjoy a ride along. Thanks again for the memories.

(Thanks for the memories guys! Read on!) I am famous for putting things off, but even I'm surprised that I procrastinated this long for this update; however back in early December, thanks to all of you guys and gals, a one day gathering with no entry fee called Heritage Lite - in a town of less than 2000 people no less - managed to provide over 4000.00 in donations to the Kentucky State Police Shop with a Trooper program and help some kids get a Christmas they would not have otherwise had. While it was NOT Heritage as we were accustomed to seeing it, it still blows my mind at the outpouring of support for our scene and our cause, plus I think everybody had a good time - especially Saturday night! Thanks for providing us one final year to make a difference, and all of the good times we had from 2003-2015! I think it's obvious to all of us that with the new limitations of venue and changes around here, we can't continue with any realistic hope for growth. Once a show stops growing and evolving, it's time to call it quits and make room for the next ambitious minitruckers to pave a new path for all of us.

That being said, I hope to see all of you around the show scene as much as possible. There's no way I can stay away, that's why I started this fun new side gig called AppalachianCarShows. Taking much of my inspiration from my all-time favorite site, DropJawMag- I miss you Glenn Pilgreen- with , my goal is to provide a central location for show info in this region as well as a coverage/promotion and DJ service to help out shows looking for their own identity. That's right- you won't see me running Heritage any longer, but don't be surprised to see me with a camera or on the mic at many other shows in this area, both large and small! There's very few pleasures I take out of life more so than being involved in this community and anything I can do to help the show scene continue to grow in this area, I will try! You need somebody to help promote a show? Call me. Web based show coverage? Love to! Need a DJ? I'll be there. Need somebody to talk you off the ledge the day before an event? Let me be that guy. So thanks for letting me get a cheap plug here - if you find yourself bored, check out http://www.appalachiancarshows.com (looks best on a desktop, mobile version is having kinks worked out!) to see what shows I've already covered and where I'm going, and I hope to grow into one of your go-to sites for coverage and promotion in the Appalachian region!

Thanks again for the memories y'all.

Forgive the long delay. The numbers are now tallied, and it looks like thanks to all of you guys, we are able to give a little over 4,000.00 dollars to the Kentucky State Police Shop with a Trooper fund for kids this year! Keep in mind, that’s not very far off from our record-breaking number in 2015, and we did those solely with sponsorship, shirt sales and donations from all of you all this year.

I couldn’t be prouder- Heritage Lite was obviously an experiment to see what we could do with a new location and a totally different feel. To bring in that sort of profit only depending on the kindness of others with nothing to be gained by it, is really humbling. I am excited to be able to hand this check over.

That being said, a sincere thank you to everyone. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to provide the full blown event this year that everybody has become accustomed to, but most people seemed to really enjoy themselves. We had some really epic moments (Clint Perkins freakin' rolling the Mazda, Jamie’s fire-dancers and best ever show, JT Blair’s bagged Peterbilt – and Ricky Shepherd’s ensuing commentary LOL) and some on a more personal level (getting introduced to all of the members of TI by Brad, Shay Mullins saving the day with his rolling public address system, Tim Wade’s envelope he drive-by'd me with, watching dad take donations for KSP person to person at the show and mom feeding everybody bologna sandwiches LOL, etc.) that will stand out to me as some of the greatest in Heritage history. I’ve learned to appreciate the smaller things in my career as a show promoter maybe even more so than the larger ones.

A final thanks to our sponsors- as this was a FREE show this year, there is no way I could’ve done it without them. We didn’t have as many sponsors as we usually do – times get harder and I realize that sponsorship money is harder to give out - but the ones we did have really stepped up and went way beyond anything we could have ever expected of them – most of these have been multiyear sponsors, many since the beginning of the show. The City of Whitesburg, MCHC, Parkway Pharmacy, Community Trust Bank (When we started this, we had three banks sponsor us. All of them have bailed on us except for CTBI- thanks to you guys for being a huge sponsor since the beginning!), Fraziers Farmer Supply, Central Kentucky V***r, P&P Construction, the Black Bear Pizzeria. A special thanks to the Harveys and Drivnfor handling selling the shirts for us with nothing expected in return, and the rest of the awesome vendors who braved the show (Drop Em wear Clothing– who has been a huge part of the show over the many years, Turtle Wilson, WTWW etc.) and supported us knowing it was not going to be the biggest ever.

I can never thank everybody individually on the spot, so forgive me. But everyone who contributed even a moment of their time, I’m so appreciative of you. I don't think there are any more generous people than minitruckers, and please continue to support those other great shows that try and benefit kids here in the Appalachians. Spook Show in Rogersville, TN last weekend was a great example with their toy drive, as is Run to the Hills coming up next weekend.

Thanks for letting me make a small dent in the minitruckin’ scene around here. I’ll forever be grateful.

P.S. Donation Pix Soon!

Hey guys, this isn’t a Heritage related update - those are coming very soon, complete with numbers - but this is something super important. I don’t really do a personal Facebook, nor do I share stuff, so this is the only venue I have to help get the word out.

My good friend, a huge supporter of Heritage for years and one of the most legendary mini truckers ever in my eyes, Ricky Fontanillas is currently fighting cancer. He’s also the type that would never ask for anything, luckily he had a GoFundMe set up for him. He could really use any help right now y’all can give.

You got this Ricky.

BTW: I have a small handful of Heritage-Lite window stickers left; for those of you that make a donation to Ricky and may want one, just send me a SASE and I’ll throw one in the mail to you as a thank you as long as they hold out. My addy is 226 Medical Plaza Lane Whitesburg Ky 41858.

Ricky found out he had some tumors in his bladder recently. He had a procedure done to have the tumors removed. He will begin doing 3 months of chemo soon. After his chemo he will then need his bladder and prostate removed which will leave him with a bag for urine. Ricky is in good spirits with...
