Tomorrow at 7:00 AM we’ll be at all three gates with the Whiteman Primary Prevention Workforce, RTAs, MRTs and First Sergeants waving to drivers, sharing positive messages, and reminding everyone that you matter, you’re not alone, and help is always available.

Sometimes a simple smile, a wave, or a few encouraging words can make a bigger difference than we realize.

How do you give back to your community?

For us, it’s simple: when there’s a need, we answer the call.

When we were asked to lend a hand in Chilhowee, where some lots had become overgrown, our volunteers showed up ready to work. We spent the day clearing weeds, cutting back overgrowth, and getting the lots back to a more manageable condition.

It may seem like a small thing, but giving back isn’t always about making a huge impact all at once. Sometimes, it’s simply seeing a need, showing up, and making a difference. 💪

Senior Advisor AJ Kelly, had the opportunity to sit down with International President SMSgt (Ret) Steven Haro for a great conversation at last week’s 2026 AFSA International Convention.

The discussion covered AFSA’s legislative platform, and the impact of our Professional Education & Development seminars in educating, empowering, and developing attendees. President Haro also shared his perspective and insight on a variety of topics, providing valuable context and a deeper look at the work happening across AFSA.

Equally important was the connectedness built throughout the breakout sessions, bringing members and leaders together to exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn from one another.

These conversations and connections are what make AFSA stronger.

We learn together, advocate together, and lead together—and our collective voice creates meaningful impact.

📣GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING RECAP📣

Another great General Membership Meeting in the books! We brought our members together to share updates, exchange ideas, and look ahead at what’s next for AFSA Chapter 881!

One of the key discussions was POW/MIA Week as we continue planning ways to honor and remember those who were prisoners of war/ remain missing in action. We’re looking forward to bringing our members and community together to make this year’s observance meaningful.

We also discussed upcoming events, chapter initiatives, opportunities to serve, and ways our members can continue making an impact.

Most importantly, these meetings are about our members having a voice. Thank you to everyone who showed up, participated, asked questions, and continues to invest in the Spirit Chapter.

Your involvement makes our chapter stronger. Your voice helps move us forward.

While some of us were at the AFSA International Convention last week, Chapter 881 was still making an impact back home!

A1C Lambert partnered with the Whiteman School Liaison team for the Back to School Bash, overseeing 34 volunteers who came together to support our community.

This is what service looks like, showing up, giving back, and making a difference wherever we are.

It was an honor to connect with Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman, David Isom, Command Chief Master Sergeant Shawn Aiello of Air Force Global Strike Command and Air Forces Strategic Air, CMSAF #18 Kaleth Wright, CMSAF #19 JoAnne Bass and AFSA International President, SMSgt (Ret) Steven Haro.
