Join us for Rotary this Tuesday as we welcome Kristin Tank and Emily Merten for a presentation on the 2026 proposed educational millage for Muskegon Community College.
Voters in Muskegon County will consider an operating millage restoration proposal on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The proposal would restore MCC’s operating rate to the original 2.4 mills approved by voters in 1993. Due to Headlee Amendment rollbacks, the current operating rate has gradually decreased to 2.1295 mills.
The proposed restoration would add 0.2705 mills, which is $0.2705 per $1,000 of taxable value. For a home with a market value of $250,000, the estimated cost would be approximately $30 to $34 per year.
Funds generated by the millage would support MCC’s daily operations, facility repairs, campus safety improvements, technology updates, and academic spaces.
This will be an informative program for members and invited guests to better understand the proposal and its potential impact on MCC and our community.
