Our club delivered dictionaries to Whitehall, Cardwell, and Harrison third graders this month. Actually, the books are far more than a dictionary - they contain information on all US presidents, the US States, world countries, basic sign language, and basic scientific information on a variety of topics. The kids really enjoy looking through them and learning to use them. No batteries or electricity required to make it work.

We have our Christmas gift bags stuffed and ready for Meadowlark Manor and another senior group. It's a meaningful project we have been doing for a number of years. Karen, Arlene, Terry, and Candace (and her daughter Sarah) helped Santa ready the items for delivery next week.

Our Rotary Club is pleased to announce that you can now buy HALT Emergency Fire Blankets from us. HALT has top-rated quality products that have been recognized in leading publications and on a morning news show.
The profit from your purchase of a Blanket will help fund future club projects like the free pool day, reference books for area 3rd graders, maintenance of the historic pond and more.
Cost: $30.00 each. Contact Karen Burtch to pick one up now or stop by the Christmas Stroll in December - we plan on being there.

We handed out ice cream treats to kids (of all ages) today during our Rotary free pool day in Whitehall. The ice cream was in memory of our member Vic Miller who passed away last year. Vic loved ice cream. His wife Mary Ann (second from the left) was there to help.
A big thank you to Jefferson Fresh Foods for supplying the treats.

YEAH!! We have trout at the pond. With a delay in chlorinating the city water, we were able to have a few trout brought over for the remainder of the summer - BIG trout. Terry Ross helped them move into their new home.
And, our memorial picnic table was installed today as well. This will help us remember our Rotary members who have passed away since 2023. This includes Erv Hedegaard, Hank King, Vic Miller, and Wayne Peterson. The table is wheelchair accessible.

Sometimes a program for a Rotary meeting is better experienced by going to the program. On June 10th, members of our club visited the new business of Summit Valley Outdoor Living (south of Cardwell) and learned about different types of flowers and vegetable garden plants and how to care for them. Of course, we all ended up buying some of their wonderful selection. Thanks to Daniel who shared his knowledge with us.
