A family in our football community is currently facing a difficult time, and we are coming together to support their young son, King.
King is a first-grade student at Gockley Elementary in Whitehall who has recently been diagnosed with achalasia, a rare and progressive motility disorder that affects approximately 1 in 1 million children. Because of the complexity of his condition, King is receiving specialized care at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, where medical experts have extensive experience performing pediatric POEM procedures.
He is currently undergoing intensive treatment and recently had a feeding tube placed to help address growth and nutritional needs. His family is now pursuing a life-changing surgical procedure that could significantly improve his quality of life.
To support King and his family, a Community Care Event will be held on June 3rd from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Chick-fil-A Whitehall. During this time, 20% of all sales will be donated to help with his medical expenses and ongoing care. If you attend, please let staff know that you are participating in the fundraiser when placing your order.
