The Whitefish VFW Post 276 and Auxiliary invites everyone to join us for our traditional Memorial day ceremonies on May 25th.

At 1200 noon the Auxiliary will have their ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Hwy 93 that crosses over the Whitefish river.

After the Auxiliary ceremony we will move up to the Whitefish Cemetery to conduct the Post's ceremony to honor our fallen.

After the cemetery ceremony the public is welcomed to join us for our traditional BBQ at the VFW Post at 20 Baker Avenue.

Please join us in remembering and honoring those that gave their lives in defense of the freedoms that you enjoy everyday.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you, from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow,
In Flanders fields.

Come out and support the Whitefish VFW Post 276 and Auxiliary on Poppy Day. We will be at the post office and super one in Whitefish from 11am to 5pm taking donations to support our Poppy drive. You can also donate at the Post at 20 Baker Ave.

Let us remember and honor our fallen heroes.

On May 9th Whitefish VFW Post 276 Auxillary President Sara Howell and Whitefish VFW Post 276 Commander Dustin Wegner met with Sargent Tim Shuch and SWAT Officer Trey Nassat of the Whitefish Police department. They gave us a tour of the American Range Wall, a tactical wall setup, for them and other agencies to use for training. The Whitefish Auxiliary donated $1000 and the Whitefish VFW donated $5000 to the Whitefish Police department to be able to purchase this setup. The wall can be setup in various formats to change the setup to be able to give a different training course everytime. This can be used for clearing buildings and rooms, active shooter, and hostage type situations. We support our law enforcement and respect what they do. We were able to help them get this much needed training wall so they can be proficient at their skills, at the time that it is needed. We are honored to be able to help them and our community.
